Role description
Fimatix UK are a leading Agile Software Development Consultancy and we have specialised in delivery software programmes for HM Government for the past 8years. We are currently starting a new programme of work for a HM Gov client and we require a number of DevOps Engineers on a contract basis. This role is INSIDE IR35. We’re looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to help scale and evolve a modern, cloud-native platform built on AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), and Terraform. You’ll be working on a multi-environment infrastructure stack that supports secure deployments, observability, automation, and forward-looking AI integrations across development and operations workflows. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in infrastructure automation, understands secure and observable deployments, and is excited by the potential of integrating AI to streamline development, issue resolution, and security operations. Key Responsibilities • Enhance and maintain Terraform codebases for: • AWS EKS clusters • IAM roles (IRSA, OIDC), networking, encryption • Secure and scalable infrastructure components • Own and improve CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps • Deploy and manage Kubernetes workloads via Helm • Build and evolve observability dashboards and alerting with tools such as LogicMonitor, CloudWatch, and Prometheus • Integrate scanning tools (e.g. SonarQube) with automated alerting and dashboarding • Collaborate with platform engineers on AI-powered enhancements, including: • GitHub Copilot & AI-assisted development • AI agents for Jira ticket triage & resolution • Automated responses to CI/CD pipeline issues • AI-driven alerting for security issues and failed tests • Support multiple environments using Terraform workspaces and parameterised deployments Tech Stack • Cloud & Infra: AWS (EKS, IAM, ALB, KMS, Route53, VPC, S3) • IaC: Terraform (with terraform-aws-modules), remote backends • Kubernetes: EKS, Helm, kubectl, raw manifests • CI/CD: Azure DevOps Pipelines, container-based runners • Observability: LogicMonitor, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana (nice to have) • Security & Scanning: SonarQube, AWS security tools • Scripting: Bash, PowerShell, AWS CLI You Should Have • Strong experience with Terraform and AWS • Solid knowledge of Kubernetes operations (preferably EKS) • Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines and environment-based deployment strategies • Familiarity with building or extending observability solutions using LogicMonitor or similar tools • Understanding of infrastructure security, scanning tools, and remediation workflows • A strong interest in AI tooling for productivity and automation (Copilot, OpenAI agents, etc.) • Comfortable working in a collaborative, multi-team environment Please apply now for an immediate conversation about the role in more detail.
