Role description
This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.
The Boeing Company is seeking a broad range of experience levels including; Experienced, Senior, and Subject Matter Expert (SME)/Technical Lead Engineer (TLE) Level DevSecOps Software Engineers who will provide engineering support for a new SW engineering initiative involving CI/CD pipelines and AI tools.
This position will be physically located in Cambridge, MA.
Designs, develops, and completes test and verification of software products to ensure quality, reliability, and functionality. Partners with stakeholders to review and identify software requirements, test objectives, test strategies, and testability. Designs test plans, cases, and scenarios to meet software requirements and specifications. Sets up and configures test environments, including hardware, software, and network configurations to replicate production environments. Executes test cases and scenarios to verify functionality, performance, and safety of software systems, identifying and reporting defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilities found during testing processes. Provides test results and feedback on software design and functionality to resolve defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilities. Creates, documents, and maintains test plans, procedures, cases, artifacts, metrics, and data in accordance with data privacy and security protocols and standards. Develops and maintains automated test scripts and frameworks to improve efficiency and effectiveness of testing processes. Performs software project management functions across test and verification activities involving multifunctional teams. Sets up and maintains a Hardware-In-the-Loop automation system for automating system level software and hardware tests for avionics platforms.
Technical Lead Engineer (Level 5)
β’ Oversees development, documentation and maintenance of standardized, efficient, and innovative processes, tools, methodologies, and performance metrics to streamline the software engineering lifecycle and enable continuous integration, delivery, and deployment of safety critical software.
β’ Oversees a small technical team to accomplish technical milestones, and contributes to the development of advanced rapid development software capabilities.
β’ Communicates technical progress, hurdles, proposed solutions, and team updates to Leadership.
β’ Research or publications in the CI/CD or AI software field are a strong plus, but not required.
β’ Leads development, documentation and maintenance of standardized, efficient, and innovative processes, tools, methodologies, and performance metrics to streamline the software engineering lifecycle and enable continuous integration, delivery, and deployment of safety critical software. Ability to lead and help junior engineers in accomplishing technical engineering activities.
β’ Familiar with automated testing methodologies and frameworks (e.g. PyTest) to ensure rapid and efficient test execution is a plus.
β’ Willingness to use AI Tools in CI/CD development required, familiarity is a plus but not required.
β’ Ability to collaborate effectively with HIL (Hardware-In-the-Loop) teams to integrate software with hardware-in-the-loop testing environments.
β’ Excellent collaborator with cross-functional teams to achieve a common goal, including a teamwork mindset, good communication skills, and a desire for fast-paced development.
β’ Develops, documents and maintains standardized, efficient, and innovative processes, tools, methodologies, and performance metrics to streamline the software engineering lifecycle and enable continuous integration, delivery, and deployment of safety critical software.

β’ Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
β’ Experience with testing frameworks (e.g. Selenium, JUnit, PyTest).
β’ Understanding of monitoring and logging tools (e.g. Prometheus, ELK Stack).
β’ Experience with cloud platforms a plus but not needed (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP).
β’ Familiarity with artifact repositories (e.g. Nexus, Artifactory).

β’ Bachelor's degree and typically 3 or more years' experience in a software engineering classification or a Master's degree with 1 year of experience in a software engineering classification.
