Role description
Position Title: DevSecOps Engineer Location: Remote (United States) Clearance Requirements: Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust Clearance Position Status: Contract Pay Rate: Competitive (DOE) Position Description: Seneca Resources is seeking two highly experienced DevSecOps Engineers to join a mission-critical enterprise modernization initiative. This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about integrating security throughout the software development lifecycle while building scalable, automated, and cloud-native platforms. As a DevSecOps Engineer, you will collaborate with development, operations, and cybersecurity teams to design, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, infrastructure-as-code (IaC), container platforms, and AI-driven automation solutions. You will play a key role in improving deployment velocity, strengthening application security, automating compliance, and enhancing operational resilience across enterprise cloud environments. This position is best suited for candidates with extensive experience in DevSecOps, Cloud Engineering, CI/CD, Kubernetes, Docker, Infrastructure as Code, AI-driven automation, and secure software delivery. Key Responsibilities: • Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable CI/CD pipelines supporting enterprise software delivery. • Lead release management activities across Development, SIT, CAT, and Production environments for major releases, patches, and upgrades. • Automate build, deployment, testing, monitoring, and release processes using DevSecOps best practices. • Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines using SAST, DAST, Software Composition Analysis (SCA), and automated compliance validation. • Collaborate with software development teams to enforce secure coding standards and remediate vulnerabilities early in the SDLC. • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation with secure configuration management. • Deploy and manage cloud-native applications across AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). • Secure and manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes. • Utilize GitOps methodologies with tools such as ArgoCD and Flux for automated deployments. • Develop automation scripts and security tooling using Python, Java, and AI-enabled technologies. • Leverage Microsoft Copilot and other AI technologies to automate manual operational tasks and improve engineering efficiency. • Integrate AI-driven automation into existing DevOps and testing frameworks to improve reliability and deployment quality. • Manage cloud infrastructure, monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational observability. • Support RESTful APIs and microservices architectures deployed in cloud-native environments. • Troubleshoot CI/CD pipeline failures, cloud infrastructure issues, application deployments, and production incidents. • Administer enterprise databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server as needed. • Ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PCI DSS, GDPR, and other enterprise security standards. • Mentor engineering teams on DevSecOps principles, cloud security best practices, and secure application development. Required Skills/Education: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline. • Four (4) additional years of related experience may substitute for a non-related degree. • 13–20 years of overall IT experience. • Minimum 10 years of Release Management experience supporting Development, SIT, CAT, and Production environments. • Minimum 10 years of experience supporting code promotion, deployments, production monitoring, and release automation. • Minimum 5 years designing and supporting secure CI/CD pipelines. • Minimum 3 years utilizing Microsoft Copilot or AI-enabled automation tools within DevOps or engineering environments. • Demonstrated experience implementing enterprise AI solutions to automate operational workflows.
