Digital Design Coordination (DDC) Engineer Teamcenter
Location: Warren, MI
Pay Rate: $4555/hour
Schedule: Monday Friday | 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Work Environment: Onsite
Position Summary
The Digital Design Coordination (DDC) Engineer plays a critical role in supporting enterprise design data operations by maintaining structured digital environments used by engineering, design, and manufacturing teams. This position combines deep expertise in Siemens Teamcenter PLM systems with process improvement and cross-functional collaboration to ensure accurate, scalable, and efficient management of vehicle design data.
This role focuses on improving data integrity, automating manual workflows, and supporting the transition to Teamcenter Active Workspace, while partnering closely with Design Technology, Engineering, and IT teams. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to influence process improvements across complex product development environments.
Key Responsibilities
Data Management & Integration
Build, manage, and maintain structured Teamcenter assemblies supporting 3D CAD data (NX, Alias)
Organize product data aligned with vehicle architecture including variants, trim levels, carryover components, and new designs
Perform audits to eliminate duplicate or stacked parts and maintain Persistent Digital Model (PDM) integrity
Ensure accurate digital model visualization throughout all GVDP program phases
Process Development & Automation
Lead initiatives to reduce manual workflows through automation and scalable PLM solutions
Collaborate with IT and Design Technology teams supporting migration to Teamcenter Active Workspace
Establish best practices for digital data structure, release readiness, and milestone compliance
Issue Resolution & Governance
Monitor and troubleshoot Teamcenter data or system issues
Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective solutions
Partner with IT teams to maintain PLM system stability and performance
Document process updates and communicate impacts across stakeholders
Program & Design Support
Support program timing requirements across conceptual, development, and execution phases
Maintain data readiness aligned with GVDP milestones
Assist with P2P workflows and design patent documentation coordination
Training & Cross-Functional Communication
Develop and deliver Teamcenter training materials in collaboration with Global Design Training teams
Serve as a subject matter expert supporting engineering, design, and program teams
Communicate software and process updates through release notes, impact summaries, and training sessions
Continuous Improvement & Leadership
Capture business requirements and develop PLM process improvement initiatives
Lead validation and testing activities for Teamcenter upgrades
Create and execute test cases while tracking system performance issues
Build strong partnerships across engineering, program management, and design organizations
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 5+ years of experience working with Siemens Teamcenter and CAD visualization environments
Strong expertise with Siemens Teamcenter (RAC & Active Workspace)
Experience supporting NX integration and visualization tools (TcVis)
Understanding of PLM data structures and digital product development workflows
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced program environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with automation concepts such as scripting, templates, or PLM configuration
Automotive or defense vehicle development experience
Experience supporting enterprise PLM migrations or system upgrades
