Data Modeler Austin, TX - Hybrid - Only Locals 6 months Contract This is a Hybrid Position - NO REMOTE Position available. We are currently hiring candidates who are authorized to work on our W2. Candidate With Previous State/govt Client Experience Is Preferred. Position will be 3 days remote with 2 days (Mon & Fri) required to be onsite at the location listed above. Program will only allow candidates who are LOCAL TO THE AUSTIN AREA ONLY (Within 50 mile radius). Enters codes to create production data base. Selects and enters codes of utility program to monitor database performance, such as distribution of records and amount of available memory. Directs programmers and analysts to make changes to data base management system. Reviews and corrects programs. Answers user questions. Confers with coworkers to determine impact of data base changes on other systems and staff cost for making changes to data base. Modifies data base programs to increase processing performance, referred to as performance tuning. Workers typically specialize in one or more types of data base management systems. Providing assistance in the planning, development, maintenance, and monitoring of integrated database systems, and ensuring that the conceptual and design phases of new applications are consistent with the structural parameters within the database environment. Evaluates users' requests for new data elements and systems, incorporates them into the existing shared data environment, and provides technical assistance. Coordinates the use of data to ensure data integrity and control redundancy, loads databases, and reorganizes as needed. Performs data modeling and prototyping. Performs logical and physical data modeling, designs relational database models, and creates physical data models from logical data models. Performs security recovery procedures. Determines and implements database search strategies and storage requirements. Maintains data dictionary ensuring uniformity of definitions and sets standards for use of data dictionary. Monitors database performance and recommends efficiency improvements. Creates test database environment for applications section, including the creation of necessary libraries and procedures. Executes the procedures necessary to save, retrieve, and recover databases from hardware and software failures within established procedures. Assists with determining, implementing, and enhancing standards on database security and with monitoring agency disaster recovery procedures and systems. Assists with the installation of database software and with analyzing, designing, and implementing databases. Assists in benchmarking and threshold testing of databases and with establishing and controlling necessary database security. Assists in the selection of database management software. Experience in computer systems analysis or computer programming work. Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of computer programming and systems design; of computer operations, systems, and procedures; of project control and cost estimating techniques; of computer programming languages; of data processing flowcharting techniques; of database structures and theories; and of current database technologies. Has working knowledge of EIR Accessibility standards and assistive technologies. Ensures that user interfaces for database administration and inputting, viewing, outputting data(via reports) are compliant with accessibility standards. Provides support to users in obtaining data / information when EIR Accessibility issues arise. Works under the general supervision of the Regulatory LTC Application Manager or their designee. This position is responsible for leading complex technical database activities for the information systems supporting the HHSC Division of regulatory Services. Provides support in the development and maintenance of data warehouse and reporting systems. Develops, tests, debugs and documents highly complex program code to implement functional and design requirements for reporting systems in the agency. Participates in code walk-thrus. Assists in the development and maintenance of system documentation. Works with other members of the development team and end-users. Develops and maintains expertise in a variety of programming and database management tools. Develops technical and user documentation and supports training as required. Hybrid role: Must be available to come into office 2 days/week subject to change. • CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Requirements: Candidates that do not meet or exceed the minimum stated requirements (skills/experience) will be displayed to customers but may not be chosen for this opportunity. Years Required/Preferred Experience 7 Required Evaluates users' requests for new data elements and systems and incorporates into the existing shared data 7 Required Install and use Data Modeling tools like Tableau, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Informatica and etc. 7 Required Develop logical and physical Data Models and Entity Relationship Diagrams. 7 Required Implement database objects in an Oracle cloud RDBMS, Salesforce CRM. 7 Required Advanced data modeler with experience in Design, creation, and maintenance data models representing production databases. 7 Required Generate scripts to be in the database using data modeler tools. 7 Required Incorporating changes to data model design. 7 Required Write source to target mapping instructions as needed to support ETL development. 7 Required Develop stored procedures, database triggers and complex PL/SQL packages where needed. 7 Required Perform requirement analysis and provide data mapping guidance to application and development teams. 5 Preferred Coordination and Collaboration: Work with various teams, including IT support, development, and operations, to gather information and expertise. 5 Preferred Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. 5 Preferred A certain degree of creativity, out of the box thinking, and latitude is required. 5 Preferred Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. 4 Preferred Communication: Keep stakeholders informed about the status of problems and solutions. 4 Preferred Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. 2 Preferred Strong understanding of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) to extract, transform, and load data, enabling businesses to use data for analysis and decision-making, extracting data from various sources, such as databases, files, and cloud services. 2 Preferred Certification in Azure Data Factory (ADF), Informatica preferred. 2 Preferred Experience understanding PERL scripts is a plus. 2 Preferred Experience creating Tableau dashboard.
