Direct Client Position-Data Governance Lead -Remote

Role: Data Governance Lead Location: Remote Type of position: Contract Role & Responsibilities The Data Governance Lead will spearhead the remediation of audit findings related to orphaned data and unstructured data sensitivity management. This role is responsible for finalizing orphaned data identification processes, documenting ownership roles and assignment workflows, and configuring ownership tracking in Atlan/Purview. The lead will compile comprehensive audit evidence packages, develop effectiveness reports with metrics, and facilitate knowledge transfer sessions to ensure Customer can sustain processes post-engagement. This resource collaborates closely with ServiceNow teams, internal audit, and data stewards to achieve 80% structured dataset ownership coverage and formal closure. Must Have Skills • 7+ years in data governance, data management, or business analysis • Hands-on experience with data catalogs (Atlan, Alation, or similar) • Strong documentation and audit evidence compilation skills • Understanding of data classification, ownership models, and lifecycle management • Experience with ServiceNow workflow configuration • Familiarity with MS Purview governance capabilities Nice to Have Skills • DAMA-DMBOK or DCAM certification • Power BI dashboard development for governance reporting • Background in PII and customer data sensitivity management
