We are seeking a Director of Data Science and Analytics to lead our Marketing Analytics function, driving data-informed decision-making and strategic marketing investments. This leadership role combines technical expertise, people management, and executive storytelling, playing a pivotal part in influencing marketing strategy through analytics, experimentation, and insights.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in data science and analytics, experience managing data teams, and familiarity with tech-enabled or marketplace businesses. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing a team of six to seven, ensuring analytical excellence and strategic alignment across marketing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities :
• Lead and manage a team of approximately six to seven data scientists and analysts, driving performance, prioritization, and professional development.
• Oversee prioritization intake and collaborate with stakeholders to allocate priorities across marketing analytics initiatives.
• Partner closely with marketing leadership to summarize marketing performance, identify trends, and provide data-driven recommendations.
• Conduct and oversee root cause analysis, insight generation, and the development of actionable strategies to support marketing goals.
• Support key marketing initiatives such as A/B testing, incrementality experiments, and investment shifts to optimize marketing spend and performance.
• Ensure statistical rigor in experimentation design and analysis.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to deliver compelling data stories, translating complex analyses into clear and impactful narratives.
• Drive the measurement and reporting strategy for marketing channels, ensuring consistency, transparency, and alignment with business goals.
Key Requirements :
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with BI and visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, and PowerBI.
• Proven ability to craft executive-level storytelling, distilling complex data insights into clear, actionable narratives for senior stakeholders.
• Management experience leading data scientists and/or analysts, including overseeing experimentation and ensuring statistical rigor.
• Experience managing prioritization intake, stakeholder alignment, and resource allocation in a data or analytics function.
• Strong analytical background with a track record of delivering impactful insights and supporting marketing strategies through data.
• Industry experience in marketplace or tech-enabled businesses is strongly preferred (real estate experience is not required).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams and leadership.
