Role description
Brief Description
Position Summary:
We are hiring a Director, Product Solutions to lead product strategy and delivery for FireLight®, Hexure's flagship e-application and order-entry platform. FireLight is the largest and most strategic product in our portfolio, used by the majority of top U.S. life and annuity carriers and distributors to submit new business. This role exists to give FireLight the dedicated senior product leadership it needs as our platform, customer base, and ambitions continue to grow.
You will report to the VP, Product Management, and lead a team of Product Managers focused on FireLight, with selected cross-domain responsibilities where FireLight intersects with ForeSight, Vive, and IXN. You'll set the FireLight roadmap, own the outcomes it's accountable for, and be the senior product voice on FireLight internally and with customers. This is a senior individual-contributor-plus-team role: you'll lead the team while staying close to the product, the data, and the customer.
You'll operate in a domain where expectations are rising fast — modern UX, AI-assisted workflows, real-time integrations, UI-driven configuration — and a customer base that demands enterprise-grade configurability, compliance, and reliability. Your job is to make those feel like the same job.
About Us
Join a team where we encourage creativity and innovation, champion teamwork and are committed to being the best. In this environment we strive to provide our clients best-in-class solutions that transform business processes and empower sales across all insurance, retirement and investment products.
Hexure, started with a simple goal: transform the insurance and financial services industry through powerful end-to-end sales solutions. For more than 25 years, carriers and distributors have depended on our commitment to innovation, speed to market delivery and deep domain expertise. Our solutions have been implemented within industry-leading insurance carriers and distribution firms. And our track record of empowering client success speaks for itself.
Together as a team, we strive to provide our clients best-in-class solutions that transform business processes and empower sales across all insurance, retirement and investment products. We endeavor to cultivate a culture of inclusion for all employees that respects their individual strengths, views, and experiences. We believe that our differences enable us to be a better team – one that makes better decisions, drives innovation, and delivers better solutions for our clients.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
• Generous benefit packages - We offer our employees competitive health insurance options, including medical, dental, and vision plans, as well as long term and short-term disability insurance.
• Pre-tax savings programs including flexible spending accounts, and a 401K that is competitively matched!
• Lifestyle Spending Account. This provides an employee the flexibility to spend benefit dollars on the things that matter most to them.
• Flexible Paid Time Off (PTO). Work-life balance is a key part of our company culture here at Hexure, and we know that our employees do their best work when they can take the time they need to rest and recharge.
• Office Closures – Inclusion and Diversity are integral to enhancing our culture. In support of this, we offer 10 companywide office closures and encourage all employees to use flexible PTO to celebrate religious or cultural holidays, employee birthdays, or other state or federal holidays that bring personal meaning.
• In addition to all the standard PTO options, Hexure proudly offers a generous and progressive paid Modern Family Leave policy.
• Professional Development - Hexure supports you and your professional development.
• We also have employee anniversary perks, health, and wellness programs, and much more!
• Most benefits are effective on date of hire!
Deliverables And Performance Measures
• FireLight product strategy and roadmap, tied to named revenue, retention, and efficiency outcomes for carriers, distributors, and end users.
• The FireLight backlog — prioritizing across new customer commitments, platform investment, configuration/modernization work, tech debt, and compliance in a way your team and stakeholders can defend.
• A team of Product Managers covering FireLight, with accountability for hiring, coaching, and setting the bar for spec quality, discovery rigor, and launch readiness.
• Cross-domain product decisions where FireLight touches ForeSight, Vive, and IXN — partnering with peer product leaders to make sure the seams between our products feel like one platform, not four.
• The FireLight customer feedback loop — running structured discovery with carriers, distributors, BGAs, and end users, and converting insight into shippable product decisions.
• Cross-functional delivery partnership with Engineering, UX, Implementation, Sales, and Customer Success to move work from concept through adoption.
• Go-to-market enablement for FireLight — positioning, pricing input, release communications, and making sure the field can sell and support what you ship.
• Modernization themes in the FireLight product area, including UI-driven configuration (replacing XML config with a rule builder), AI-assisted workflows, NIGO reduction, post-issue transaction expansion, and reducing time-to-value for new carriers and products.
• Product performance reporting for FireLight — defining the metrics that matter and presenting results to executive leadership and, as needed, iCapital stakeholders and the Board.
Success Within The First 12 Months Looks Like
• You own a clear, sequenced FireLight roadmap that Engineering, GTM, and the executive team are aligned on.
• Your team is shipping predictably, with discovery and spec quality your Engineering partners would describe as raising the bar.
• You've built durable FireLight customer feedback channels across carriers, distributors, and end users, and can point to specific product decisions that came out of them.
• Named revenue, retention, or efficiency outcomes tied to the FireLight roadmap are trending the right way, with evidence.
• The VP, Product Management has measurably more capacity to lead across the full portfolio because FireLight product decisions are running through you.
• You've hired or grown at least one PM, and your team operates with clear ownership and high trust.
What Will Make You Successful
• 8+ years in product management, including 3+ years leading other product managers.
• 5+ years shipping enterprise B2B SaaS, with direct experience on highly configurable platforms that serve multiple stakeholder types (e.g., carriers and distributors, issuers and advisors, buyers and sellers).
• Experience owning a flagship or highest-revenue product in a SaaS portfolio, or a comparable high-stakes product area where delivery quality directly impacts customer renewals.
• Demonstrated track record of owning a roadmap that produced measurable revenue growth, retention lift, or meaningful efficiency gains — and the ability to talk specifically about how you got there.
• Strong product craft: writing crisp specs, running disciplined discovery, decomposing ambiguous problems into themes, epics, and stories that engineering can actually build.
• Fluency with product metrics and analytics; comfort making trade-offs based on data, and equal comfort making a call when the data is thin.
• Experience partnering with Engineering leaders on architecture and delivery decisions — you understand enough of the stack to be a real partner, not just a customer of engineering.
• Executive-level written and verbal communication. You can write a one-pager that a CEO will read and a spec an engineer will build from.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in life insurance, annuities, or another regulated financial services domain — particularly with new-business, e-application, or order-entry workflows.
• Experience with configurable workflow or form-driven platforms (e.g., BPM, low-code, case management, agreement/contract automation).
• Experience with integration platforms, APIs, or multi-party data exchange.
• Experience shipping AI-assisted features in an enterprise SaaS context.
• Experience operating in a private-equity-backed or recently acquired company.

We are searching for candidates who exhibit strong resilience, showing the ability to bounce back quickly from adversity, embrace challenges with a positive attitude, and consistently drive towards overcoming obstacles.
• Inquisitive: At Hexure we seek innovative solutions and constantly challenge the status quo. We are seeking candidates who demonstrate a natural curiosity, actively ask questions, pursue new knowledge, and eagerly explore uncharted territories to drive innovation
• Nimble: We are flexible and adaptable. We are seeking candidates who can quickly adjust to changing circumstances, embrace new challenges with ease, and effectively navigate dynamic environments
