JOB DETAILS
Role Title: Dynatrace Expert
This role is a combination of Dynatrace/Observability Engineer and Lead COE member. Candidate should be able to hands-on Dynatrace activities if application teams are new to Dynatrace.
-Dynatrace
-AppDynamics
-Dynatrace
-preferably Dynatrace‑certified
Talent should have 6+ years’ work experience.
• Design and implement E2E observability for business-critical payment and banking workflows
• Configure request attributes to enrich traces with business context (transaction IDs, payment types)
• Trace distributed transactions across microservices, MQ, mainframes, and APIs using PurePath
• Use DQL basics for querying metrics, building dashboards, and operational reporting
• Define and manage Management Zones for multi-team, multi-environment segmentation
• Design alerting strategies that reduce noise — leveraging baselines, anomaly detection, and SLO-aligned severity tiers
• Build audience-specific dashboards for executives, operations, and engineering teams
• Leverage Smartscape and Davis AI for topology-aware root-cause analysis
• Define SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets for business services and integrate them into release and incident decisions
• Preferred Dynatrace Associate Certified
• Strong stakeholder communication
• Understanding of External tool integrations(ex: Moogsoft) with Dynatrace.
• Lead enterprise observability strategy across applications, API platforms, and Important business services
• Engage with individual application teams to assess current observability maturity (logs, metrics, traces, events)
• Define and establish Observability Center of Excellence (CoE) standards, including:
- Instrumentation guidelines
- Naming conventions
- Tagging and metadata standards
- Dashboard and alert design principles
• Identify observability gaps and create structured improvement roadmaps aligned to business priorities
• Drive standardization and governance across multi-team and multi-environment landscapes
HIGH LEVEL BUSINESS OBJECTIVE FOR THE INITIATIVES:
This project establishes the organizational, technical, and governance foundation required to run Observability as an EMEA wide capability. It sets up the Observability Center of Excellence (CoE), defines operating models, and introduces standardized practices for logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting. The project ensures the core observability toolset—Splunk, Dynatrace, and Moogsoft—is fully prepared, integrated, and governed as a unified enterprise platform.
By creating the “rails” for observability—standards, governance, tooling readiness, operational owners, and cross domain guidance—the organization gains a consistent and scalable model for monitoring critical applications. This foundation enables improved system reliability, faster incident detection, and the ability to measure operational health across the enterprise. It provides the centralized leadership and technical backbone necessary for a successful multi year observability rollout.
Benefit: Enhanced Resiliency & Productivity
Platform team creating rails, standards, consulting & supporting application teams - excludes application specific teams effort to build / implement
This project provides the delivery resources required to implement observability practices across Domains and critical business applications (EMEA IBS). These resources work directly with domain teams to instrument services, deploy Dynatrace, integrate logs into Splunk, configure alerting in Moogsoft, and establish dashboards and health indicators aligned to enterprise standards.
The effort ensures each domain is enabled with hands on support, accelerating adoption of the observability platform and converting standards into real operational improvements. By onboarding applications, uplifting maturity, and embedding domain level champions, the project expands observability coverage, reduces MTTR, and improves visibility into system behavior. This domain focused implementation is essential for turning enterprise observability strategy into measurable outcomes at the application level.
Benefit: Enhanced Resiliency & Productivity
Application specific teams effort to build / implement full observability
