Role description
Akkodis is seeking a Ecommerce Business Analyst contract job with a client in Rochester, NY. Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field to be considered. You’ll collaborate with Product Owners, analysts, architects, and partners across multiple regions to define, validate, and refine business and technical requirements, ensuring customer experience, reporting, and financial considerations are integrated into every stage of the solution. Will be responsible for determining the needs of a project and acting as a liaison between product owners, stakeholders, and software development teams. They analyze requirements for a project, reconcile conflicting interests, an determine how to translate the product owners' vision into a plan that can be implemented by developers. Rate Range: $30/hr. to $40/hr. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Ecommerce Business Analyst job responsibilities include: • Work closely with the Product Owner to help define & document requirements for consumer facing applications. • Elicit requirements from stakeholders, users, documents, existing systems, or market research. • Analyze requirements for clarity, consistency, completeness, feasibility, and testability. • Validate requirements against stakeholder and user expectations through reviews, prototypes, or simulations. • Manage requirements across the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with project scope, objectives, and changes. • Communicate requirements clearly to project participants via specifications, diagrams, and user stories. • Incorporate requirements and feedback from regional stakeholders across the globe, ensuring consistency while respecting local needs. • Collaborate with Product Owners, architects, and delivery managers to transform visions into actionable requirements. • Partner with user experience (UX) designers to document user interface and customer experience requirements. • Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and Agile ceremonies • Attend Sprint Reviews to review implementation and adjust requirements as needed. • Support UAT planning and execution, ensuring test cases map back to requirements. • Prepare communications such as memos, reports, and presentations. • Effectively collaborate with a Product Owner to define implementable features/requirements for a release. • Serve as a key subject matter expert for answering requirement-related questions for a product release. • Establish in-depth knowledge of one application and baseline knowledge of interconnected applications. • Act as a trusted partner to the Product Owner, helping translate long-term roadmap needs into discrete release functionality. Desired Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field is required. • Minimum 5 years related experience. • High-level proficiency in technical and user documentation, with experience writing Features, Epics, User Stories, and other requirement types in Azure DevOps or Jira. • Experience with Agile/SCRUM or equivalent methodology. • Familiarity with e-commerce concepts such as product catalogs, order management, fulfillment, payments, analytics, and customer service workflows.
