About the Role
We are seeking an experienced EDI Support Consultant to support and manage EDI integrations in a production environment. This role focuses on resolving EDI trading partner issues, working directly with customers, coordinating with Level 3 and Level 4 support teams, and developing and managing EDI Mapping Requirement Specifications (MRS) to align retailer and wholesaler EDI requirements with internal EDI standards.
Responsibilities
• Provide Level 2 / Level 3 EDI production support for trading partner integrations
• Act as the primary point of contact for EDI trading partner and customer issues
• Analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve EDI transaction, data, and communication failures
• Create, maintain, and update Bridge Documents (MRS):
• Different Type of Retailer EDI specifications
• To internal EDI standards and canonical formats
• Interpret and analyze Retailer/Wholesaler EDI implementation guides and EDI specifications
• Document field-level mappings, code translations, validations, and business rules
• Coordinate with Level 3 and Level 4 engineering teams to implement bridge document changes in EDI maps
• Support EDI transactions such as 850, 820, 855, 856, 810, 997/999, and related acknowledgments
• Perform reprocessing, resubmission, and reconciliation of failed EDI transactions
• Validate inbound and outbound EDI files against partner and AB specifications
• Track incidents, problems, and changes using ticketing and ITSM tools
• Ensure SLA compliance and provide timely customer and partner communications
• Maintain support documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles
• Participate in on-call and production support rotations
Qualifications
• 9+ years of experience in EDI support / EDI operations
• Strong understanding of ANSI X12 and/or EDIFACT standards
• Proven experience creating Bridge Documents between external partner specs and internal EDI standards
• Experience working with Retailer and Wholesaler EDI specifications
• Ability to analyze EDI implementation guides and translate them into clear mapping documentation
• Hands-on experience supporting EDI communication protocols (AS2, FTP/SFTP, VAN)
• Familiarity with EDI platforms such as IBM Sterling, Seeburger, Boomi, BizTalk, Cleo, MuleSoft
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
• Experience collaborating with Level 3 / Level 4 teams for permanent fixes
Preferred Skills
• Retail, Wholesale, or CPG industry EDI experience
• Working knowledge of EDI mapping concepts and tools
• Exposure to Oracle / SQL databases for transaction analysis and reconciliation
• Experience with Python or scripting for automation and log analysis
• Understanding of ITIL-based support processes
