Role description
Contract Duration: 6 month contract (W2), potential extensions Location: Vancouver, WA 98662 Hybrid Work Model: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote Estimated Pay Rate: 48-60/hour Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience level, and education. Benefit packages for this role includes medical, dental, and vision insurance Required Skills & Experience • 4–5+ years of experience as an EDI Engineer building and supporting EDI solutions (any industry) • 4+ years of experience with SQL development (SQL Server preferred) for EDI file creation, transformation, and data processing • Experience working with EDI transactions such as 834, 837, 270/271, 820, or similar formats • Strong understanding of EDI workflows, data mapping, and production support Preferred (Nice to Have) Skills & Experience • Experience in the healthcare domain or working with healthcare EDI transactions (834 highly preferred) • Familiarity with PHI, HIPAA compliance, and regulated data environments • Experience with integration platforms such as Dell Boomi, MuleSoft, or similar tools Job Description A client in the Pacific Northwest is seeking an experienced EDI Engineer to join their team on a 6-month contract (with potential extension). This role follows a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite / 2 days remote). This position focuses on designing, building, and supporting EDI solutions that enable efficient and reliable data exchange across systems. You will collaborate closely with both onshore teams and offshore partners (India) to deliver scalable, high-quality integrations. Key responsibilities include: • Developing and maintaining EDI integrations, with a focus on core transaction sets (including 834s) • Supporting end-to-end EDI workflows including mapping, transformation, and production support • Writing and optimizing SQL queries to create, process, and deliver EDI files • Partnering with internal and external teams on architecture, development, and delivery of EDI solutions • Troubleshooting and resolving production issues as needed While this environment includes healthcare-related data, prior healthcare, HIPAA, or PHI experience is a strong plus but not required.
