Electronic Data Interchange Analyst

Position: EDI Lead Location: - Northbrook, IL (4 days Onsite) – locals Only EDI Onsite Coordinator The EDI Onsite Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of EDI solutions. You will serve as the primary point of contact for business users and trading partners, translating business requirements into technical specifications for the offshore or remote development teams. Your goal is to ensure data integrity, timely onboarding of partners, and the smooth operation of automated supply chain or financial transactions. Key Responsibilities 1. Requirement Gathering & Analysis • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data exchange needs (e.g., Purchase Orders, Invoices, Shipping Notices). • Perform gap analysis between existing EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT) and internal system requirements. • Document detailed functional and technical specifications for the mapping team. 1. Coordination & Project Management • Onsite-Offshore Liaison: Act as the bridge between the client site and the offshore delivery center to ensure tasks are understood and deadlines are met. • Partner Onboarding: Lead the technical onboarding process for new trading partners, including communication setup (AS2, SFTP, VAN). • Status Reporting: Provide regular updates to management regarding project milestones, risks, and production stability. 1. Technical Oversight & Testing • Oversee Unit Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). • Review EDI maps and translation logic to ensure compliance with partner guidelines. • Troubleshoot complex production issues, including data errors, transmission failures, and mapping discrepancies. 1. Governance & Strategy • Maintain comprehensive documentation of trading partner profiles and mapping cross-references. • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the EDI ecosystem. • Ensure adherence to industry security standards and data privacy regulations. Required Skills & Qualifications • Technical Expertise: • Strong knowledge of EDI standards (ANSI X12, EDIFACT, VDA). • Experience with EDI translation tools (e.g., IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, OpenText, Boomi, or Seeburger). • Familiarity with communication protocols (AS2, FTP/SFTP, HTTPS). • Understanding of ERP integration (e.g., SAP IDocs, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics). • Professional Skills: • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client-facing interactions. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Experience in Agile or Waterfall project management methodologies. • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Cloud-based EDI platforms. • Basic knowledge of SQL for data validation and troubleshooting. • Industry-specific experience (e.g., Retail, Healthcare/HIPAA, or Logistics).
