JOB DESCRIPTION Role: Engineer I - Data Analyst • • TEMP TO HIRE • • Mode: temp to hire so no visa or 1099 candidates and please note that FTE salaries are determined based on cost-of-living areas Rates/Salary: FTE conversion salary range is $106k - $114k/ideal $109k Profile: This is more of an analyst role, but still requires strong technical engineering type skills such as SQL, Python, Tableau and AWS exposure. Will be part of a team of 3 including the manager and produces lots of reports, support data analytics, etc. Process: submit info as "why a fit for this role vs career overview” > initial .5 video w/manager followed by a panel > remote start on a Tuesday (8:45-9:00am EST orientation) with the goal of converting to hire once meets the hours (520/90 days). About the Team The Strategic External Reports team is responsible for producing a wide range of high stakes reports that summarize annual participation and performance results across Client programs, including AP, SAT, and PSAT. The team ensures that these reports are reliable, accurate, secure, and delivered on time. As part of this work, the team drives continuous improvement in reporting processes, data integration, and workflow automation. We partner closely with internal teams and collaborate with external stakeholders and delivery partners to ensure results are delivered with precision, efficiency, and a strong commitment to service. About the Opportunity As an Engineer I - Data Analyst, you will support day-to-day reporting operations while contributing to ongoing modernization efforts through improved visibility, analytics, and strengthened quality controls. You will work hands-on with operational systems and data to coordinate key milestones, validate outputs, investigate anomalies, and ensure accurate, timely deliverables. In this role, you will support both internal stakeholders and external clients by enabling secure report delivery, driving timely issue resolution, and maintaining a high standard of service that protects the customer experience. You will also contribute to improving operational processes by identifying pain points and helping translate them into practical enhancements. This includes standardizing workflows, strengthening monitoring and validation checks, and implementing repeatable automations that reduce manual effort, improve reliability, and accelerate turnaround times. In this role, you will: Operational Ownership: Report Delivery (60%) ·       Support end-to-end report delivery for a variety of stakeholders, ensuring outputs are accurate, secure, and delivered on time ·       Maintain delivery calendars and integrated delivery plans, coordinating milestones, dependencies, and readiness checkpoints across cross-functional teams ·       Monitor workflow health and proactively identify risks, escalating issues as needed and contributing to mitigation plans ·       Validate data outputs and perform quality checks to ensure consistency and reliability of reporting deliverables Analysis and Strategic Improvements (20%) ·       Review business and technical requirements and provide input into data design, reporting logic, and process improvements ·       Analyze data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for operational improvement ·       Research, experiment with, and adopt new tools, technologies, and approaches to improve automation, scalability, and efficiency ·       Contribute to the development of more standardized, repeatable, and well-documented workflows Support (20%) ·       Troubleshoot data and reporting issues, identifying root causes and supporting resolution ·       Fulfill ad hoc data requests and reporting needs for internal and external stakeholders ·       Partner with team members to ensure consistent communication and timely support About You You will have: ·       Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience ·       1-2 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or software/data-related roles (internships and academic projects count) ·       Experience working with SQL and Python for data querying and analysis ·       Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau ·       Experience working with large datasets and performing data validation or quality checks ·       Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS ·       Understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts ·       Exposure to version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows ·       Ability to communicate data insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences All roles at Client require: • A passion for expanding educational and career opportunities and mission-driven work • Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies, with a willingness to experiment with and adopt new AI-driven solutions and comfort with learning and applying new digital tools independently and proactively. • Clear and concise communication skills, written and verbal • A learner's mindset and a commitment to growth: welcoming diverse perspectives, giving and receiving timely, respectful feedback, and continuously improving through iterative learning and user input. • A drive for impact and excellence: solving complex problems, making data-informed decisions, prioritizing what matters most, and continuously improving through learning, user input, and external benchmarking. • A collaborative and empathetic approach: working across differences, fostering trust, and contributing to a culture of shared success • Authorization to work in the United States Why TalentBurst?
