Job Title: Engineering Administrator / Lifecycle Support Systems Administrator Job Description The Engineering Administrator / Lifecycle Support Systems Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and continuously improving the organization’s lifecycle support systems, data, and reporting. This role ensures that warranty, repair, spares, and configuration data is accurately captured, maintained, and analyzed to support engineering decisions, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. The position serves as the primary system and data subject matter expert for product tracking tools, interfaces with ERP and PLM systems, and acts as a key liaison between Engineering, Warranty, Quality, Finance, and Customer Support teams. Responsibilities • Administer and maintain department tracking systems, databases, and related tools to ensure data integrity and system reliability. • Ensure accurate creation, configuration, and lifecycle management of warranty cases, repair records, and return material authorizations (RMAs). • Manage user access, permissions, and system configuration in accordance with internal controls and governance requirements. • Administer and maintain CDLS spares inventories for APC and VCS, including both repairable and non-repairable items. • Track initial lay-in of spares, replenishment quantities, and failure-driven consumption trends to support availability and cost control. • Ensure spares holdings align with repair-versus-replace logic and program-specific CDLS rules. • Track, manage, and maintain accountability of all Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) across its lifecycle. • Ensure proper documentation, handling, and compliance with contractual requirements for GFE. • Coordinate with internal teams for allocation, return, and audit activities related to GFE assets. • Develop and deliver recurring and ad hoc reports, including warranty trends, failure modes, turnaround time (TAT), and cost of warranty and repair. • Support management and engineering decision-making through data analysis, dashboards, and visualization of key performance indicators. • Partner with Engineering to provide accurate data for failure analysis and root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities, supporting corrective action and continuous improvement initiatives. • Support Quality Assurance by ensuring documentation and traceability required for audits and compliance are complete and accurate. • Collaborate with Finance to track warranty costs, support accruals, and perform cost analysis for warranty and repair activities. • Ensure warranty data aligns with configuration management and product lifecycle records in ERP and PLM systems. • Serve as a subject matter expert for warranty management systems, ERP, and PLM tools used for product tracking and lifecycle management. • Support cross-functional teams in a regulated or high-reliability environment by providing timely and accurate data and reports. • Contribute to the modernization of critical communication systems by ensuring reliable, high-quality lifecycle support data. Essential Skills • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Access, or similar enterprise platforms. • Experience with PLM systems and PLM records to support configuration and lifecycle management. • Proficiency in engineering documentation and configuration management principles. • Knowledge of Return Materials Authorization (RMA) processes and related workflows. • Strong skills in data analysis and reporting tools, including advanced Excel functions and Power BI or similar tools. • Understanding of warranty workflows and repair lifecycle processes. • Ability to interpret technical and operational data and present findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Experience in warranty or repair operations, systems administration or business systems support, or operations, quality, or engineering support environments. • Strong understanding of database concepts and structured data management. • Ability to manage supply inventory, spares, and repairs within structured systems. • Bachelors Degree and 5–9 years of experience, or Associates Degree and 15–19 years of experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working with warranty management systems in a high-reliability or regulated environment. • Experience supporting cross-functional teams that include Engineering, Warranty, Quality, Finance, and Customer Support. • Familiarity with configuration management practices in complex engineering environments. • Experience administering or supporting product tracking tools integrated with ERP and PLM systems. • Exposure to government-furnished equipment (GFE) tracking, documentation, and compliance requirements. • Ability to develop and deliver recurring and ad hoc reports tailored to management and engineering needs. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and traceability. • Comfort working in environments focused on modernization of critical communication systems, such as air traffic control communication systems. • Excellent communication skills to act as a liaison between technical and operational teams. • Demonstrated ability to support continuous improvement and corrective action initiatives through data-driven insights. Work Environment The role is based in an engineering and laboratory environment in Columbia, MD, supporting a broader operation focused on modernizing air traffic control communication systems. The immediate team consists of approximately 5–6 members, creating a close-knit, collaborative setting while interfacing with multiple departments across the organization. The position follows a Monday–Friday schedule aligned with standard business hours, with most team members starting around 7:30 a.m. The environment emphasizes reliability, regulatory compliance, and high-quality engineering support, with regular interaction with lifecycle support systems, ERP and PLM platforms, and data analysis and reporting tools. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, MD. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.66 - $38.00/hr.
