Engineering Consultant

Title: DERMS / GridOS Business Analyst & Test Engineer (SME) Location: South Florida (West Palm Beach or Miami area) Structure: 12-Month Contract-to-Hire Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst / Test Engineer (SME) to support the implementation and enhancement of GE Vernova DERMS (Distributed Energy Resource Management System) and GridOS Connect platforms. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring successful delivery of large-scale grid modernization initiatives, supporting system integrations, validating data flows, and driving end-to-end testing across complex utility systems. Key Responsibilities Business Analysis & System Validation • Support delivery of DERMS and GridOS Connect initiatives through requirements analysis, validation, and documentation • Develop and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs) to ensure full test coverage • Analyze system requirements, data flows, and integration points across utility platforms Testing & Quality Assurance • Design, develop, and execute test cases across: • System Testing • Integration Testing • End-to-End Workflow Testing • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) • Regression & Performance Testing • Ensure high coverage of requirements and full execution of test cases prior to release phases • Produce Test Execution Summary Reports, including metrics, defects, and readiness criteria Integration & Data Validation • Validate integrations between DERMS and systems such as: • ADMS, EMS, SCADA, AMI, and external DER aggregators • Identify data sources, define metadata requirements, and support data transformation logic • Develop and execute scripts (Python/Java) for: • Data validation • Log analysis • Integration testing Required Qualifications • Experience in Business Analysis and/or System Testing • Experience working with utility or grid management systems (DERMS, ADMS, EMS, SCADA, AMI, etc.) • Strong understanding of: • Integration testing methodologies • End-to-end workflow validation • Experience creating and maintaining Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs) • Proficiency in Python and/or Java for scripting and data validation • Experience writing and executing detailed test cases across multiple testing phases • Ability to interpret APIs, technical documentation, and integration specifications Preferred Qualifications • Experience with DER onboarding, dispatch logic, or telemetry validation • Familiarity with energy utilities or grid operations environments • Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks What Success Looks Like • High-quality delivery of testing and validation across multiple system releases • Seamless integration between DERMS, GridOS Connect, and external systems • Accurate and complete traceability between requirements, test cases, and execution • Consistent on-time delivery of reporting and project deliverables About Us: • At Brooksource, relationships are the foundation of everything we do.
