Role description
Job Title: Engineering Data Specialist Job Description The Engineering Data Specialist supports a major ERP implementation by entering and maintaining critical engineering data, including bills of materials (BOMs), routings, and part numbers in Oracle before go-live. After implementation, this role maintains and synchronizes engineering data between Oracle and Infor LN, ensuring that item numbers, BOMs, and routings remain accurate and up to date. The specialist also supports day-to-day engineering changes, quantity updates, and other data maintenance activities to ensure reliable manufacturing and product information across systems. Responsibilities โ€ข Enter bills of materials (BOMs), routings, and part numbers into Oracle as part of the ERP implementation before system go-live. โ€ข Review, validate, and maintain engineering data to ensure accuracy and completeness during the ERP implementation process. โ€ข Maintain and update engineering data between Oracle and Infor LN after implementation, ensuring consistency across both systems. โ€ข Update item numbers, BOMs, and routings in response to engineering changes and process updates. โ€ข Support day-to-day engineering change activities by updating quantities, components, and routing details in the ERP systems. โ€ข Perform ongoing data maintenance to ensure manufacturing and product information remains accurate, current, and aligned with engineering requirements. โ€ข Use Excel to organize, analyze, and upload engineering and manufacturing data efficiently. โ€ข Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to clarify data requirements and resolve discrepancies in BOMs, routings, and item master records. โ€ข Follow established procedures and documentation standards when entering and updating data in Oracle and Infor LN. โ€ข Identify and escalate data issues, inconsistencies, or gaps that could impact manufacturing accuracy or system performance. Essential Skills โ€ข Proven data entry experience with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail. โ€ข Hands-on experience entering data into bills of materials (BOMs). โ€ข Experience working with routings and related manufacturing data. โ€ข Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry, organization, and basic analysis. โ€ข Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand how parts, assemblies, and routings relate to manufacturing processes. โ€ข ERP experience, with familiarity in working within structured data fields and workflows. โ€ข Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain consistency when entering and updating data. โ€ข Strong organizational skills to manage multiple data tasks and priorities. โ€ข Clear written and verbal communication skills to work effectively with engineering and operations teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications โ€ข Experience with Oracle ERP is a strong plus. โ€ข Experience with Infor LN ERP is a strong plus. โ€ข Experience working with bills of materials, routing structures, and item master data in a manufacturing or engineering environment. โ€ข Comfort working with large data sets and performing data clean-up or validation activities. โ€ข Interest in learning more about manufacturing processes, engineering changes, and ERP best practices. Work Environment This is an in-office role with a regular schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The position supports an ERP implementation and ongoing engineering data maintenance within a structured, process-driven environment. You will work closely with engineering and operations teams, primarily using Oracle, Infor LN, and Microsoft Excel throughout the day. The organization offers 6 paid holidays and 1 week of paid time off, creating a stable and supportive work setting for focused, detail-oriented data work.
