Note: This position is a contract on W2, and is NOT open to C2C.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Epic Data Engineer to join a growing Digital Services team supporting enterprise healthcare analytics. This role will partner with architects, business intelligence developers, analysts, and data scientists to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytic solutions across both on-premises and cloud environments.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience working with Epic data platforms, strong programming skills, and a passion for transforming complex healthcare data into reliable, actionable insights.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and deploy ETL/ELT processes across multiple data sources and platforms.
• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines to support enterprise reporting and analytics.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain enterprise data warehouse solutions.
• Collaborate with business intelligence developers, analysts, and data scientists to deliver high-quality datasets.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines, data warehouses, and analytic applications.
• Participate in the design and implementation of conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD processes to improve deployment efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Follow Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) best practices throughout development.
• Ensure compliance with Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) security standards.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and technical solution design.
• Mentor junior and intermediate engineers by providing technical guidance and best practices.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Master's degree preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience developing and supporting enterprise applications or data engineering solutions.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently across a diverse technology portfolio.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Required Technical Skills
• Epic Cogito Fundamentals Certification
• Strong experience with Cogito
• Strong knowledge of the Clarity Data Model
• Strong knowledge of the Caboodle Data Model
• Strong programming experience
• Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing expertise
• Experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines
• Data modeling experience (conceptual, logical, and physical)
• Experience supporting enterprise analytics solutions
Preferred Qualifications
• Epic Certification in: Cogito Tools Administration, Caboodle Development for Clarity Data, Caboodle Development for Non-Epic Data
• Experience with Snowflake
• Experience with Facets
• Cloud data platform experience
