Title: ETRM Data Modeler
Location: London (Hybrid, 3 days WFO)
Contract: 12 Months
This role focuses on developing, implementing, and maintaining data and analytical models that generate commercial insights for energy trading (across gas, power, LNG, oil, and low-carbon markets).
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and deploy quantitative and fundamental models (e.g., pricing, forecasting, supply-demand balances) to support trading decisions.
• Collaborate with traders and analysts to ensure models align with commercial goals.
• Identify opportunities for standardization and reusability of analytical components.
• Communicate analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders and influence decisions.
• Apply best practices in model design and advanced analytics.
Essential Experience
• Education: STEM or quantitative degree (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science).
• Domain Knowledge: European energy markets (gas, LNG, power) — including understanding of physical and financial trading instruments.
• Proven ability to build commercial models that inform trading strategy.
• Hands-on experience with statistical and ML techniques (e.g., regression, time series, forecasting).
• Strong coding skills — ideally Python (pandas, numpy, statsmodels).
• Comfortable handling large, complex datasets and producing insights efficiently.
• Strong problem-solving and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Desirable Skills
• Experience with data engineering — designing and building data pipelines for analytics.
• Broader Python expertise across data science stacks.
