Role description
Job Title: EYES Data Quality Officer
Contract Type: Contract (Outside IR35)
Location: Remote
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: Until 30/09/2026 (with likelihood of extension)
The EYES Data Quality Officer will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the quality, accuracy, and integrity of data within the EYES system. This position focuses on identifying, investigating, and resolving data quality issues to ensure the system remains reliable for both operational and reporting purposes.
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor and improve overall data quality within the EYES (Early Years Entitlement) system
• Identify and resolve data issues, including:
• Duplicate records
• Inconsistent or conflicting information
• Missing or incomplete data
• Support and maintain the EDI Dashboard, including processing and validating data feeds from schools
• Match incoming pupil data against existing records, creating new records where required
• Perform reconciliation activities to identify discrepancies between school data and EYES system records
• Investigate and resolve:
• Enrolment conflicts
• Suspension and exclusion discrepancies
• Ensure data corrections are applied accurately and consistently
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve data quality issues
• Provide guidance to teams on data standards, processes, and corrective actions
Key Requirements
Essential:
• Proven experience working as a Data Quality Officer (or similar role)
• Experience working on an EYES (Early Years Entitlement) project or another early years/education-related project
• Strong experience in data validation, cleansing, and reconciliation
• Ability to investigate and resolve complex data issues
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Desirable:
• Experience working with education data systems or local authority datasets
• Familiarity with data governance and data quality frameworks
