Role description
A FedOps candidate should possess strong experience in managing and supporting cloud-based and enterprise platforms within highly regulated environments, with a focus on reliability, security, and compliance. The role requires proficiency in DevOps practices such as: • CI/CD • Infrastructure automation • Monitoring Candidates should have hands-on expertise in: • Troubleshooting • Incident response • System optimization This is essential to ensure high availability and performance. Candidates should be comfortable collaborating across: • Development teams • Security teams • Operations teams to streamline software delivery while adhering to governance standards typical of federal environments. Strong skills required: • Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) playbook development • Problem-solving • Operational mindset • Process improvement through automation • Data-driven decision making Knowledge of the following is a plus but not mandatory: • HP Operations Orchestration (HPOO) • HP Server Automation (HPSA) Core Responsibilities • Design, develop, and support event-driven automation leveraging the FedOps framework across ServiceNow, Polycloud, and enterprise platforms. • Build, maintain, and optimize automation workflows using Ansible Automation Platform (AAP). • Develop reusable, scalable playbooks for: • Alert remediation • Self-healing • Operational workflows • Integrate automation solutions with enterprise systems, including: • ServiceNow • APIs • Infrastructure platforms • Support onboarding of applications and use cases into FedOps and ensure alignment with enterprise standards. • Troubleshoot and resolve automation failures, ensuring reliability and operational resiliency. Required Skills (Must-Have) Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) Strong hands-on expertise with: • Playbook development and optimization • Job templates and workflow templates • RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) • Secure execution models • Integration with external systems (ServiceNow, APIs, etc.) Scripting • Python • PowerShell • Shell scripting (Bash/KSH) Automation & Operations • Event-driven automation • Operational tooling • Infrastructure management • Application workflow management • Incident management processes Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with legacy automation/orchestration platforms: • HP Operations Orchestration (HPOO) • HP Server Automation (HPSA) Experience with: • Migration and modernization initiatives from HPOO/HPSA to AAP or other modern orchestration platforms • Enterprise automation ecosystems such as: • SSP • AutoSys • ServiceNow integrations Key Success Factors • Ability to drive automation modernization initiatives. • Reduce dependency on legacy tooling. • Strong focus on: • Scalability • Resiliency • Operational efficiency • Proven ability to enable teams through: • Reusable automation frameworks • Automation standards • Best practices
