Role description
Weβre looking for a Finance Data & Reporting Business Analyst for an international specialty insurance group to support finance reporting and data initiatives, working closely with Finance and Technology teams. This role sits at the intersection of finance, data, and business analysis, requiring strong technical capability alongside solid finance understanding.
You will work across finance reporting streams, supporting both business-as-usual reporting and strategic data improvement initiatives. The role requires someone who can confidently analyse financial data, investigate discrepancies, define clear requirements, and ensure high-quality reporting outputs.

β’ Possesses a strong analytical mindset with a curiosity for data and investigative rigor
β’ Effectively communicates actionable plans and end-to-end solutions
β’ Maintains a thorough understanding of data best practices and lineage, with the capacity to critically evaluate and challenge requirements
β’ Experienced in authoring precise user stories and technical design specifications
β’ Proficient in SQL and Snowflake, with the ability to develop complex queries
β’ Deep understanding of the insurance industry and associated financial processes
Technical Experience Required:
β’ Strong SQL proficiency (queries, joins, aggregations, window functions)
β’ Root cause analysis of data discrepancies and financial variances
β’ Advanced Excel and/or Power BI / SSRS (financial models, pivots, complex formulae)
β’ Conceptual understanding of cloud data platforms such as Snowflake or Azure-based data warehousing
β’ Experience writing queries, particularly in SQL and Snowflake
Finance Knowledge:
β’ P&L
β’ Balance Sheet
β’ Cash Flow
β’ Ledger data reporting
Complementary Experience:
β’ Insurance experience within the P&C space
β’ Understanding of policy processing, rating/premium concepts
β’ Conceptual knowledge of claims flow
β’ Exposure as a Data Analyst within the Lloydβs market
β’ Experience working with Underwriting, Claims, Finance/Reporting, Regulatory & Lloydβs, and Data & Technology teams
