Role description
Finance MI Decision Support Analyst 12-month contract The Management Information team is responsible for delivering timely, accurate and insightful management information across revenue, costs, actuals, forecasts and forward-looking business performance. The team supports senior management and business stakeholders by providing high-quality analysis, clear performance narratives and robust information to inform decision-making, business planning and financial governance. The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of high-quality management information, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting across the Bank. The candidate will contribute to strong financial control, insightful business partnering and continuous improvement of reporting processes, with responsibility for activities including: β€’ Accounting journal entries β€’ Analytical review of expenses β€’ Balance Sheet reconciliations & substantiation β€’ Monthly financial reporting to business units β€’ Using Power Automate to enhance accounting and reporting processes, including workflow automation, process standardisation, control improvements, data quality checks and more efficient delivery of recurring Finance outputs. What you'll be doing The candidate will work within the Management Accounting team, taking responsibility for the delivery, review and continuous improvement of accounting and reporting processes that fall under the team’s remit, including but not limited to: Monthly accounting processes β€’ Reviewing expenses to identify any required accruals and prepayments β€’ Processing of journals and adjustments to the accounting records β€’ Variance analysis commentary in monthly cost review meetings Balance Sheet reconciliations and substantiation β€’ Substantiation and attestation of Balance Sheet accounts for review at the monthly Finance Governance Committee Monthly financial reporting and business partnering β€’ Production of monthly financial packs for distribution to business units β€’ Analysing and clearly articulating key monthly movements, year-on-year trends and variances to budget or forecast, including identification of underlying drivers, risks, Budgeting and forecasting β€’ Collaboration with the business to prepare annual budgets and interim forecasts β€’ Uploading of Budget and forecast information to the reporting systems β€’ Supporting the development, review and challenge of budget and forecast assumptions, working with stakeholders to understand key cost drivers, resource requirements, risks and opportunities. β€’ Contributing to scenario analysis, timetable management and preparation of clear budget and forecast outputs Business reporting structure maintenance β€’ Collaboration with finance business partners to ensure any business structure changes are implemented in the reporting systems What you'll need to be successful We're looking for the following skills and experience. If you don't have all of these but think you could be a good fit for the role, get in touch. β€’ Recent graduate or part-qualified accountant working towards a recognised accounting qualification, such as ACCA, CIMA or equivalent β€’ Advanced Microsoft Office capability, including Excel modelling and analysis, PowerPoint presentation of financial insights, and experience using Power BI and Power Automate to support reporting, data visualisation and process automation.
