Job Summary
We are looking for a Financial Business Analyst with strong experience in financial systems to support the design and enhancement of custom financial applications. This role will work closely with finance and IT teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Gather and document business requirements from finance stakeholders
• Convert requirements into functional specs, user stories, and workflows
• Work with developers, QA, and architects through the SDLC
• Analyze financial processes and suggest improvements/automation
• Support modules like GL, AP/AR, budgeting, forecasting, grants
• Perform data analysis, validation, and reconciliation
• Conduct UAT testing and document results
• Create user documentation and provide support
• Assist with system integrations (ERP, CRM, data warehouse)
• Ensure compliance with financial and audit standards
Required Skills
• 5–7+ years as a Business Analyst in financial systems
• Strong knowledge of:
o General Ledger
o Financial Reporting
o Budgeting
• Experience with custom or configurable financial systems
• Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Visio
• Experience with SDLC & Agile (Scrum/Sprint)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Preferred Skills
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle Financials preferred)
• Knowledge of data modeling & database structures
• Familiarity with APIs, ETL, and integrations
• Experience in government/public sector
• Certifications like CBAP, CPA, CFA, PMI-PBA
