Data Analyst (Contract – 3 to 6 Months) Location: Hybrid (Twickenham) Department: Finance Contract Type: Temporary About the Company A leading organisation within the pharmaceutical and biotech services sector is seeking a skilled Data Analyst to support a strategic data transformation initiative. About the Role This role will play a key part in the delivery of a major Data project, supporting the build, validation, and maintenance of a robust data cube to enhance Management Information (MI) reporting across the business. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone with strong analytical capability and a solid grounding in finance—ideal for a part‑qualified or fully qualified accountant looking to apply their skills in a data‑driven environment. Key Responsibilities • Collaborate with finance and project teams to implement a backlog, revenue, and margins data cube for MI reporting. • Validate data accuracy and integrity by comparing cube outputs with Data Rails (linked to Xero) and Excel sources. • Develop and maintain documentation for data structures, processes, and validation checks, and support handover to permanent staff. • Build new reports from the backlog, revenue, and margins cube to support operational and board-level reporting. • Conduct detailed analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement. • Support stakeholders with ad hoc data queries and reporting requirements. • Ensure compliance with internal controls and data governance standards. • Produce outputs including: • Reconciliations to historical management and statutory accounts • KPI validation and consistency checks • Divisional/business unit profitability analysis • Cashflow and Net Working Capital analysis Skills & Qualifications • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail. • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities. • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, SQL, and general data modelling concepts. • Understanding of financial reporting and MI processes. • Part‑qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred. • Strong communication skills, able to work effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Desirable Experience • Exposure to system implementations or BI projects. • Knowledge of ETL processes and data validation techniques. • Experience with finance systems and MI tools (e.g., Salesforce, Xero, Data Rails, Smartsheet). • Familiarity with Azure‑based data environments.
