Financial Data Analyst (Consumer Finance)

• Title: Financial Data Analyst (Consumer Finance) • Engagement: Hourly contract (independent contractor) • Location: Remote – candidates based in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Europe, Singapore, Dubai, or Australia who are legally able to work as independent contractors in their jurisdiction. About the Role We are hiring for one of our clients to provide subject-matter expertise in consumer and retail finance for AI model training. In this role, you will leverage real-world finance experience to seed, structure, and annotate financial datasets, helping AI models interpret complex, incomplete, or ambiguous financial information. Responsibilities • Curate and seed real-world consumer and retail finance datasets for AI training purposes. • Work with partial models, ambiguous inputs, and complex spreadsheets to enhance model learning. • Annotate and structure data artifacts, balancing initial seeding with iterative refinement. • Provide clear, actionable feedback to data science teams to improve AI performance and accuracy. • Collaborate effectively with finance-adjacent professionals across multiple regions (US, Canada, UK, EU). • Document observations, methodologies, and best practices in well-organized written formats. • Participate in project meetings, sharing insights and communicating progress. Required Skills & Experience • Background in consumer or retail finance, with exposure to financial operations or datasets. • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex finance concepts clearly. • Experience working with unstructured or messy data, including spreadsheets and finance artifacts. • Analytical mindset capable of understanding and normalizing ambiguous information. • Proficiency in remote collaboration and self-directed project management. • Adaptable to shifting project flows, including iterative data seeding and restructuring. • Detail-oriented approach to contributing to broad, evolving AI training initiatives. Preferred Experience • Prior experience with AI, machine learning, or data training projects. • Familiarity with finance data models, annotation tools, or structured dataset preparation. • Experience working in cross-functional or international teams in technology-driven environments.
