Job Title: Data Analyst I
Job Description
The Data Analyst I supports effective decision-making by performing economic, financial, and market analysis on critical business issues. This role focuses on capacity planning, price and cost modeling, and return-on-investment analysis, while also supporting capacity forecasting, budgeting, and reporting for operating expenses, capital, and resource allocation. The analyst designs and coordinates the development of analytical systems and tools to support a growing and rapidly evolving business, and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to deliver clear, actionable insights.
Responsibilities
โข Support effective decision-making by performing economic, financial, and market analysis on key business issues, including capacity planning, price and cost modeling, and return-on-investment assessments.
โข Support capacity forecasting efforts by developing and maintaining models and reports that project operating expenses, capital needs, and resource allocation requirements.
โข Contribute to budgeting processes by preparing, updating, and analyzing financial data to inform planning and resource allocation decisions.
โข Prepare and deliver regular reporting on capacity, financial performance, and operational metrics to stakeholders, ensuring data accuracy and clarity.
โข Design and coordinate the development of systems, tools, and processes that enable the team to keep pace with growing and rapidly changing business needs.
โข Build, maintain, and enhance financial and capacity models to support business forecasting, variance analysis, and problem solving.
โข Analyze data to identify trends, prioritize business needs, and highlight opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
โข Create clear and compelling presentations, decks, and storylines that translate analytical findings into business-relevant insights.
โข Support the transition of the team to more center-store-focused processes by helping define, document, and implement new reporting and organizational practices.
โข Contribute to establishing processes, reporting structures, and organizational routines that will fully onboard the team onto new processes within 6 to 9 months.
โข Collaborate with team members through regular daily interactions, scheduled team meetings, and monthly syncs to align on priorities and deliverables.
โข Manage data entry, data management, and reporting tasks using Microsoft Excel and other office tools, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.
โข Work independently to manage changing priorities, maintain a high level of attention to detail, and deliver accurate, timely analysis in a continuously evolving environment.
Essential Skills
โข Undergraduate degree in business, finance, engineering, or a related field.
โข Graduate degree such as an MBA or equivalent, with 0โ3 years of capacity-related experience.
โข Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to build and manage financial models for business forecasting, variance analysis, and problem solving.
โข Fluency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP functions, and other advanced spreadsheet capabilities.
โข Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools for reporting, documentation, and presentation development.
โข Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret data and connect analytical findings to business decisions.
โข Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to structure and explain complex analyses clearly.
โข Ability to create presentations, build decks, and develop cohesive storylines to convey analytical insights, even if not serving as the primary presenter.
โข Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail while working with large and complex datasets.
โข Ability to work independently, adjust priorities, and operate effectively in a continuously changing environment.

โข Knowledge of SQL is a strong plus and supports more advanced data analysis and reporting.
โข Experience with data analysis, data entry, and data management in a business environment.

โข Experience organizing and prioritizing work in a team transitioning to new processes or focus areas.

Work Environment
This is a regular full-time, standard position based onsite in Austin, Texas. The work schedule offers flexibility within core business hours, with start and end times adjustable between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The role involves frequent collaboration, including regular daily interactions with colleagues, scheduled team meetings, and monthly syncs that provide consistent alignment and communication. The environment offers significant exposure to different parts of the business and a strong opportunity to influence processes, reporting, and organizational practices as the team transitions to more center-store-focused operations. Work is primarily performed in an office setting using standard business technologies, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and other analytical tools, with an emphasis on structured reporting, data analysis, and ongoing process improvement.
