Role description
Belcan Workforce Solutions is seeking a Financial Data Analyst professional to join our team on a 9‑month maternity cover contract. Based on site in Southampton for a leading oil and gas client, this role offers an exciting opportunity to support a high‑performing Maintenance function within a complex operational environment. This Financial Data Analyst position is ideal for someone who is motivated, analytical and keen to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced setting.
You will be responsible for delivering clear data analysis, accurate cost stewardship and a range of metric reporting that supports operational decision‑making. Key responsibilities include producing maintenance cost reports, developing Power BI dashboards, preparing financial accruals, stewarding costs and supporting maintenance planning with wider teams. You will also provide technical oversight across systems including SharePoint, SAP and other data platforms.
To succeed as Financial Data Analyst, you’ll bring strong analytical ability, a well‑organised approach and the confidence to communicate effectively across the organisation. This role provides valuable exposure to maintenance performance, data governance and financial processes within the oil and gas industry.
Essential Requirements
• Strong Microsoft Office experience: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word
• Power BI and SharePoint capability
• Full on‑site attendance in Southampton (no hybrid/remote working)
• Proven analytical and data handling skills
• Well‑organised, structured, with a can‑do, driven attitude
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Previous maintenance or oil & gas sector experience

• Umbrella up to £27.35 per hour
