Role description
Job Summary:
β’ The Senior Financial Analyst supports financial operations across forecasting, planning, and financial and business performance. This role leads the development of annual and quarterly plans by integrating financial data from multiple systems and delivering strategic insights through analysis and reporting. The Senior Financial Analyst provides analytical support through monthly reporting, complex financial modeling, and ad hoc operational and financial analysis, ensuring data integrity. The role also identifies opportunities to improve departmental performance and collaborates cross-functionally to align financial strategies with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Prepare and facilitate Monthly Operating Performance Reviews, including financial commentary and actionable insights to support achievement of financial plans.
β’ Track and analyze key performance metrics and trends; develop and maintain strategic scorecards for leadership visibility.
β’ Develop business cases through financial modeling, in-depth analysis, and scenario evaluation to support strategic decision-making.
β’ Perform complex financial, statistical, productivity, cost, and ROI analyses.
β’ Partner with business stakeholders to ensure accuracy, clarity, and relevance of financial insights.
β’ Provide ad hoc financial and operational analysis to support organizational and departmental initiatives.
β’ Plan and manage analytical projects, communicate progress, and identify risks or bottlenecks.
β’ Monitor operational outcomes against expectations and recommend opportunities for improvement.
β’ Educate and train business partners on financial systems, tools, and interpretation of financial reports.
Required Skills & Experience
β’ Minimum 4 years of experience in financial analysis or business operations, including at least 2 years in healthcare.
β’ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
β’ Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and explain financial concepts clearly.
β’ Understanding of healthcare billing, charge development, reimbursement, and financial reporting.
β’ Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), management, and business practices.
β’ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Power Query, macros, pivot tables, formulas, conditional formatting, and data tables.
β’ Demonstrated experience using databases and financial software applications.
β’ Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
β’ Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-directed, and collaborative, with the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
β’ Strong emotional intelligence and ability to work autonomously.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
β’ Advanced healthcare financial analysis experience.
β’ Experience with Infor Financial & Supply Management, Cerner, or similar financial systems.
β’ Advanced proficiency with Power BI.
