Responsibilities
We are looking for an enthusiastic and intellectually curious technical business analyst who has front office domain knowledge and enjoys the quick pacing and urgency required to support the various deal teams at Fortress, with responsibilities including:
• Develop a deep understanding of the business and IT processes, logic, and applications supporting the deal pipeline lifecycle, and translate them into clear process documentation and visuals.
• Support, implement, and test system improvements, especially leveraging prior experience in fundraising and marketing efforts, contact management, events management, investor accounts, tax, and compliance reporting.
• Translate front office user requests into technical requirements and tasks, providing clear and proactive support to senior professionals.
• Collaborate with the Data Governance team to suggest new health checks by analyzing contact, company, and pipeline data, and work with business and IT teams to maintain data quality and update data models where necessary.
• Work with the QA team to develop test cases and scenarios as part of the SDLC process and help troubleshoot when there are data discrepancies or determine whether discrepancies are acceptable.
• Research and test new applications and integrations needed to support deal team requirements and business processes.
• Assist with onboarding and implementation of new applications and platforms.
• Partner with the Development team and participate in solution architecture discussions by providing clear requirements and visual documentation.
• Help design solutions built via web applications, SQL queries, APIs, and integrations.
• Create working reports for deal teams by understanding reporting needs and collaborating with the Reporting team to design dashboards that provide insights for deal origination and pipeline tracking.
• Work with the IT team to stay organized by keeping the ticketing system updated on project progress.
Qualifications / Skills
• Experience with private asset classes and investment management business processes, including deal origination, prospect outreach, and pipeline management within closed-end and open-ended funds.
• Experience with CRM pipeline systems (Salesforce, DealCloud, etc.), including:
• Designing UIs
• Creating workflows
• Setting up fields
• Data uploads
• Building inline reporting
• Ability to translate process descriptions into visual diagrams (e.g., swim lane diagrams) using tools like Visio or Lucidchart.
• Strong Excel skills, including functions such as VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and combining multiple datasets into meaningful summaries.
• Experience with Power BI or Tableau to build reports from preset views or custom SQL queries, joining multiple data sources, and creating calculated fields and parameters to build interactive dashboards.
• SQL knowledge, including writing basic queries and troubleshooting queries.
• Understanding of how CRM data is connected, including joining different tables in Excel and ideally datasets within SQL.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to interpret what a business user needs and explain those needs technically to the development team.
• Strong collaboration with power users and team members to determine the best possible solutions.
• Meticulous attention to detail, including comparing datasets, identifying discrepancies, and working with QA teams to troubleshoot issues.
• Commitment to data quality and completeness, including performing tasks necessary to ensure data accuracy.
• Independent work ethic with the ability to stay organized and adapt in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment, while proactively improving processes.
