Full Stack Reporting Engineer

Job Title: Full Stack Reporting Engineer (Contract-to-Hire) Location: Remote (U.S. preferred) Type: Part-time Contractor → Full-time Employee if mutually successful About Us We are a fast-moving digital financial marketing company with a growing internal technology ecosystem. We process and activate a ton of data across email, SMS, affiliate, and web performance channels. Our internal platforms are built primarily in PHP and MySQL, and we have an AWS-hosted Postgres data warehouse with data flowing in from Everflow, Iterable, ActiveCampaign, Google, and more. The right hire will help us unlock real insight from that data and build tools that drive smarter decisions every day. What You’ll Do • Own the creation of reporting dashboards and analytics views inside our internal PHP web application • Build automated data ingestion, ETL, and aggregation processes leveraging our Postgres data warehouse and RDS environments • Develop new internal product features and support ongoing projects in PHP • Work closely with our Director of Technology to turn reporting needs into clean, reliable products that scale • Collaborate with our senior developer and server architecture engineer on system design, performance, and security • Deploy data models and reporting pipelines that empower teams to take action • Maintain strong code hygiene, documentation, and testing discipline • Suggest improvements to data structures, schemas, and integrations as you learn how the business operates What We’re Looking For • Strong PHP development experience (object-oriented, API consumption, MySQL/Postgres familiarity) • Proficiency writing SQL for analytics - aggregations, window functions, views, indexing strategies, you enjoy this stuff • Experience building reports, dashboards, or BI-like functionality within a custom application • Hands on ETL/data pipeline experience using Python or PHP • Experience with AWS is a plus (S3, RDS, Lambdas, monitoring, etc.) • Experience working with third-party APIs such as CRMs, ESPs, affiliate networks, or advertising platforms • Ability to work independently with healthy curiosity, pragmatism, and a focus on business value • Great communicator who thrives in collaborative, agile environments • Bonus Points For • Data visualization libraries or BI tools • Familiarity with marketing analytics concepts (CPC/CPL/CPA, revenue tracking, segmentation, deliverability metrics) • Comfort working across multiple systems, legacy code, and modernizing as you go What We Offer • Flexible contracting engagement to start, with ramp-up and conversion to full-time as we grow • Direct mentorship from our technical leadership • Freedom to shape reporting infrastructure and have your work seen company-wide
