Weβre looking to hire a Full Stack Ruby Engineer II for a global technology and media company thatβs redefining the future of digital audio and content creation.
Youβll join a collaborative engineering team responsible for supporting creator tools, publishing workflows, and large-scale system migrations. This is a 6-month, fully remote contract opportunity with the potential for extension.
Full Stack Ruby Engineer Responsibilities:
Design, build, and implement new backend services while maintaining existing workflows within a large-scale Ruby on Rails environment.
Drive long-term architectural improvements by contributing to a migration from monolithic systems to distributed microservices.
Develop new database access layers and extract functionality from existing Rails models and services.
Refactor legacy callback-based logic into modern pub/sub or message queue architectures.
Support CRUD operations for content management and publishing features.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable software solutions.
Utilize Docker, Kubernetes, and GCP tools for deployment, monitoring, and scaling.
Ensure high-quality releases through automated testing, system monitoring, and peer reviews.
Full Stack Ruby Engineer Requirements:
Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science or related field.
5+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails in production environments.
Strong understanding of large-scale systems architecture and application performance optimization.
Proven experience migrating from monolith to microservices or distributed architecture.
Proficiency in PostgreSQL or MySQL, including schema design and query optimization.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Familiarity with JavaScript, ReactJS, or NextJS for full-stack development.
Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Sentry) and automated testing frameworks.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset.
