Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Gaming - AI Data Engineer for a contract position in Redmond, WA. The opportunity will be six months with a strong chance for a long-term extension.
Position Summary: We are looking for an Analytics Engineer to join the gaming data and analytics team and help us shape the future of games. Join us as an Analytics Engineer and be an architect of our data-driven future. We are seeking a strategic thinker who will combine their technical expertise with a deep understanding of the business to deliver solutions that transform raw gaming data into actionable insights and data products. You will build robust pipelines, well-crafted data models, and innovative data products to drive impactful outcomes. You will prioritise security, data quality, reliability, and usability to ensure stakeholder confidence in our solutions. To be successful, we collaborate with data scientists, analysts, data engineers, game teams, and stakeholders at the pace of our business. Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
• Build subject matter expertise of our business and data domains to collaborate with data consumers and stakeholders to understand their information needs and assist them with data access.
• Identify and analyze multi-structured data or metadata from a variety of sources to select and document the most effective and accurate data that fulfils the analytics requirements.
• Design data models, architect dataflows, and develop abstractions to deliver scalable solutions for analytics and machine learning ensuring they can evolve with changing needs.
• Leverage modern data engineering practices and frameworks with an object-oriented approach to architect, build, and maintain automated data pipelines that transform data into clean, enriched, and accurate information.
• Advance our infrastructure by developing frameworks, reusable components, and new capabilities to achieve our mission.
• Contractor performance will be measured by the value and impact their data features and analytics solutions have for the data consumer. Average or better engineering velocity in the development of analytics environment features, code quality, and teamwork will also be considered.
Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm:
• 10% - Meetings
• 30% - Interfacing with users, requirements, data analysis
• 60% - Coding (Within coding it is 70% data transformation & 30% infrastructure)
Interaction level with sponsor/team: High
Solid data engineer skills and experience, comfortable working with the business, data profiling and analysis, experience with video games is important, working with large volumes of streaming data. Data modelling skills and experience. Self-starter. Creative problem solver.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 2 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, data science, data analyst, or related software development work
• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1 year experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, data science, data analyst, or related software development work
• OR equivalent experience.
• 1 year working as an Analytics Engineer or Data Engineer with regular business collaboration or equivalent on large enterprise systems.
• SQL | 2 Years of Experience
• Data modelling | 2 Years of Experience
• Python | 2 Years of Experience
Preferred:
• Critical thinker and problem solver who brings a creative and open mindset to each situation.
• Experience building and optimizing analytic solutions and data products which deliver significant business impact.
• Data analysis and exploration skills to identify, select, and prepare data or metadata for analytics.
• Business acumen to understand and address business challenges through analytics engineering.
• Experience building, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise-scale data pipelines handling logs and event streaming data on Cloud Data Platforms using modern tools like Spark and Airflow; Azure preferred.
• Strong Python skills for data processing combined with a pythonic mindset. Proficient in SQL.
• Knowledge of DevOps and DataOps.
• Video game domain knowledge is important - as an experienced player or industry veteran.
