About the Role
We are seeking a GCP Data Architect to design, build, and optimize modern data platforms on Google Cloud. This role is highly hands-on and strategic, working closely with engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders to enable scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions.
Youβll own data architecture decisions end-to-endβfrom ingestion and transformation to analytics and governanceβwhile helping teams move toward cloud-native best practices.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Design and implement scalable data architectures on Google Cloud Platform
β’ Build and optimize data pipelines using BigQuery, Cloud Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, and related services
β’ Define data models, schemas, and standards to support analytics and reporting use cases
β’ Partner with data engineers, analysts, and product teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
β’ Ensure data quality, security, governance, and performance across platforms
β’ Lead or support cloud data migrations from on-prem or other cloud environments
β’ Provide architectural guidance, best practices, and documentation
Required Qualifications
β’ 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or analytics platforms
β’ Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, especially BigQuery
β’ Expertise in SQL and data modeling for analytical workloads
β’ Experience designing batch and streaming data pipelines
β’ Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM, and data governance concepts
β’ Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
β’ GCP certifications (Professional Data Engineer or Cloud Architect)
β’ Experience with dbt, Airflow, or similar orchestration tools
β’ Prior experience in financial services, healthcare, or other regulated industries
β’ Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid architectures
