SmartCo are seeking a highly skilled GCP Cloud Engineer / DevOps professional with hands-on experience in building and deploying GenAI solutions. This role supports a large-scale financial services programme, focusing on modern GCP infrastructure and AI platform enablement across multi-cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure), and plays a key role in shaping and optimising GCP infrastructure from an AI perspective, ensuring scalability, automation, and compliance across environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, build, and maintain GCP cloud infrastructure with enterprise-grade security, scalability, and compliance standards.
• Architect and deploy AI-ready GCP environments, translating AWS or Azure AI components into GCP-native GenAI equivalents (Vertex AI, Gemini, Document AI, Vision API).
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and IaC using Terraform.
• Deploy and manage containerised workloads with Docker and Kubernetes (GKE).
• Develop and support GenAI infrastructure, including retrieval pipelines, vector databases, embeddings, and model deployment.
• Collaborate with AI engineering teams to design and integrate AI architectures and frameworks into production systems.
• Build observability and automation for AI workloads (monitoring, logging, performance optimization) using tools like Cloud Monitoring & Logging.
• Ensure best practices in DevSecOps, cost optimization, and cloud governance.
Required Skills & Experience:
• Strong hands-on experience with GCP Cloud (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Vertex AI, BigQuery, IAM, Cloud Storage, Deployment Manager/Terraform).
• Proven background in DevOps, automation, CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Practical exposure to GenAI & AI infrastructure tools, including:
o GCP: Vertex AI, Gemini, Document AI, Vision API
o AWS: Bedrock, SageMaker, Kendra
o Azure: AI Foundry, Cognitive Services, Databricks
o Other: LangGraph, LangSmith, Agentic Frameworks, MCP/A2A
• Experience with Python or Bash scripting, vector databases, embeddings, and RAG pipelines.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, networking, and identity management.
• Experience architecting or maintaining AI-oriented GCP infrastructures.
• Prior experience in Financial Services or other Corporate/regulated environments.
Internal Interviews will take place in December.
