We're looking for an experienced Google Cloud Data Engineer to join an established data platform team, working on high-volume CDC and real-time data ingestion projects.
What you'll be doing:
• Building and enhancing GCP-based data pipelines
• Working with Cloud Datastream, BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub & Cloud Storage
• Developing scalable CDC solutions from SQL Server, MySQL and MongoDB into BigQuery
• Optimising BigQuery performance and data lake architecture
• Supporting production pipelines, troubleshooting and continuous platform improvements
What we're looking for:
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform
• Expertise in BigQuery and real-time data ingestion
• Experience with Terraform/OpenTofu (IaC)
• GitLab CI/CD knowledge
• Strong understanding of data engineering best practices and production support
• Experience with secure GCP networking (Private Service Connect, VPN, Interconnect) is highly desirable
Location: UK-based (supporting a Germany-based client)
