Role description
GCP Data Engineer
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented GCP Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize scalable cloud-based data solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and modern data engineering practices, along with exposure to Snowflake as a preferred skill.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines on GCP.
• Develop and optimize data workflows using GCP services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, and Composer.
• Integrate data from multiple structured and unstructured data sources.
• Implement data quality, validation, governance, and security best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including analytics, application development, and business stakeholders.
• Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot production issues efficiently.
• Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
Required Skills:.
• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Cloud Data Platforms
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) – mandatory.
• Experience with BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, and related GCP services.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python or Java.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL concepts.
• Experience with orchestration and scheduling tools such as Airflow/Composer.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and version control practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with Snowflake.
• Knowledge of Kafka or other streaming technologies.
• Exposure to Terraform or Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
