About the Role
The Enterprise Asset Management Value Realization Department is seeking an experienced GIS Analyst/Specialist/Engineer to provide technical support for key enterprise initiatives.This role supports data quality improvements, GIS application development, and rail engineering projects across multiple agencies.
You will work with a team of analysts and engineers to deliver geospatial solutions that enhance asset management, operational efficiency, and decision-making within the complex transportation network.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain custom GIS applications and tools to support business and engineering initiatives.
Perform data integration, transformation, and geo-analytical processes to meet specific business needs.
Apply rigorous quality controls to ensure data accuracy and usability.
Create interactive GIS dashboards, maps, and reports using Power BI, ArcGIS, and other visualization tools.
Support ESRI GIS systems including ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Desktop.
Conduct geospatial and statistical analyses for transportation and asset management projects.
Document workflows, data processes, and coding scripts for technical and non-technical audiences.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret data, solve complex spatial problems, and support enterprise decision-making.
Stay current on new GIS technologies, algorithms, and analytical techniques.
Minimum Qualifications
5β10 years of hands-on experience in custom GIS development, asset management, or transportation-related GIS projects.
2+ years preferred experience in the railroad or transit industry.
Minimum 5 years experience supporting ESRI GIS software: ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro.
Proficiency with SQL and Python for data analytics, automation, and integration.
Experience with Microsoft products (Excel, Power BI, Dynamics) and business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau).
Strong understanding of database design, geospatial data models, and analytical methods.
Familiarity with HeXagon, Experience Builder, and Survey123 Connect is a plus.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelorβs degree in Engineering, Information Management, Geography, Statistics, Mathematics, or Transportation Planning/Civil Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting enterprise asset management systems (EAM).
Understanding of transit and transportation systems, particularly subway, bus, and rail networks.
Experience developing KPI metrics, algorithms, and data validation processes.
Familiarity with data visualization, automation, and data quality improvement workflows.
