Role description
We are seeking a GIS Analyst with strong Python development skills to design, implement, and automate spatial QA/QC (Quality Assurance/Quality Control) processes. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and maintaining geospatial data validation tools using ArcPy and the ArcGIS API for Python within an enterprise GIS environment. Key Responsibilities β€’ Develop, test, and maintain spatial QA/QC checks for geodatabases and feature datasets. β€’ Automate data validation workflows using Python, ArcPy, and ArcGIS API for Python. β€’ Build and optimize scripts for data integrity, geometry validation, and topology checks. β€’ Collaborate with GIS teams, data engineers, and analysts to identify and correct spatial data issues. β€’ Integrate QA/QC scripts into ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online environments. β€’ Support data migration and transformation tasks across multiple spatial data formats and coordinate systems. β€’ Create documentation, version control (Git), and maintain reusable Python modules and tools. Required Qualifications β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Geography, or a related field. β€’ 3+ years of professional experience in GIS analysis and data management. β€’ Strong proficiency in Python with practical experience using ArcPy and the ArcGIS API for Python. β€’ Experience with spatial data QA/QC, validation scripting, and workflow automation. β€’ Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise/Online, and geodatabase management. β€’ Familiarity with data models, coordinate systems, and geoprocessing tools. β€’ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications β€’ Experience with pandas, NumPy, or GeoPandas for spatial data manipulation. β€’ Knowledge of REST APIs and web-based GIS integration. β€’ Experience with FME, SQL, or PostGIS. β€’ Familiarity with version control (Git/GitHub) and Agile project workflows.
