Role description
The Senior Google Analytics Admin / Developer is responsible for designing, implementing, and governing compliant digital analytics solutions within regulated environments such as healthcare, pharmaceutical, and life sciences organizations. This role partners closely with Quality Assurance, Computer System Validation, Security, and Data Engineering teams to ensure analytics systems meet regulatory, privacy, and audit requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. GxP‑Compliant Analytics Architecture & Validation
• Design and implement validated Google Analytics 4 (GA4) architectures aligned with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and internal SDLC/CSV frameworks.
• Develop and maintain validation documentation, including:
• User Requirements Specification (URS)
• Functional Specification (FS)
• Design Specification (DS)
• Installation Qualification (IQ)
• Operational Qualification (OQ)
• Performance Qualification (PQ)
• Ensure analytics implementations adhere to ALCOA principles (Attributable, Legible, Contemporaneous, Original, Accurate).
• Partner with Quality Assurance (QA) and Computer System Validation (CSV) teams to support system qualification and audit readiness.
1. Data Governance, Security & Compliance
• Establish enterprise‑wide data governance frameworks for digital analytics data across patient, HCP, and consumer platforms.
• Implement controls to ensure compliance with:
• HIPAA (Protected Health Information)
• GDPR, CCPA, and applicable privacy regulations
• Internal information security and risk management standards
• Configure role‑based access control (RBAC), audit trails, and logging mechanisms.
• Enforce segregation of duties (SoD) and restricted access to sensitive data.
1. Tag Management & Controlled Tracking Framework
• Lead Google Tag Manager (GTM) implementations across controlled environments (Development, QA, Production).
• Develop standardized, validated event‑tracking frameworks for:
• Patient engagement journeys
• Clinical and digital health applications
• Marketing and HCP engagement platforms
• Implement formal change control processes ensuring traceability, approvals, version control, rollback capability, and audit logging.
1. Data Integration & Regulated Data Engineering
• Integrate analytics data with enterprise systems, including:
• Clinical platforms
• CRM systems (e.g., Veeva, Salesforce Health Cloud)
• Data lakes and warehouses (e.g., Google BigQuery)
• Design data pipelines that ensure:
• End‑to‑end data lineage
• Validated data transformations
• Controlled ingestion of regulated data
• Collaborate with data engineering teams on validated ETL/ELT processes.
1. Reporting, Auditability & Inspection Readiness
• Develop compliant dashboards using Looker Studio and enterprise BI tools.
• Ensure reports are traceable to source data, reproducible, validated, and aligned with approved business logic.
• Support regulatory inspections and internal audits by providing documentation, validation artifacts, access logs, and data lineage evidence.
1. Privacy‑First, Consent‑Driven Analytics
• Implement consent management integrations aligned with patient and consumer privacy requirements.
• Apply data minimization strategies to avoid unnecessary collection of sensitive information.
• Enable anonymization and pseudonymization techniques within GA4.
• Ensure strict separation between PHI and non‑PHI datasets.
1. Monitoring, Automation & Risk Mitigation
• Build automated monitoring for tagging failures, data discrepancies, and compliance violations.
• Implement alerting and incident response mechanisms.
• Develop scripts and tools for continuous compliance checks and audit readiness.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Life Sciences, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Extensive experience in digital analytics within regulated industries such as healthcare, pharmaceutical, or life sciences.
• Strong expertise in:
• Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
• Google Tag Manager (GTM)
• JavaScript, SQL, and cloud data platforms
• Hands‑on experience with Computer System Validation (CSV) and GxP processes.
• Deep understanding of healthcare data privacy and security regulations.
