We are seeking an experienced Google Analytics (GA), Google Tag Manager (GTM), and Consent Management Platform (CMP) specialist to support our team on an hourly or retainer basis. Ideal for a consultant or freelancer, this role offers flexible hoursβtypically 5β10 hours per week, with the potential for additional work depending on project needs and growth
About the Role
You will work closely with our internal team and developers to ensure high-quality analytics implementations, compliant data collection, and strong measurement foundations for our clients. This role requires both technical expertise and the ability to communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders.
ResponsibilitiesGoogle Analytics & Google Tag Manager
β’ Set up, configure, and optimize new GA4 and GTM environments
β’ Collaborate with developers on technical implementations, including data layer planning, event structure, and custom tracking
β’ Audit existing GA4 properties, GTM containers, and tracking setups to identify gaps, issues, and opportunities for improvement
β’ Create documentation, tracking plans, and QA processes as needed
Consent Management Platforms (CMPs)
β’ Implement and configure CMPs from a variety of major vendors
β’ Test and maintain consent experiences across regions and privacy requirements
β’ Ensure proper integration between CMP, GTM, and GA4
Google Basic and Advanced Consent Mode
β’ Set up, configure, and test Advanced Consent Mode
β’ Validate data accuracy and compliance after implementation
β’ Troubleshoot consent-related signal and tracking issues
Requirements
β’ Proven experience with GA4, GTM, and modern tracking frameworks
β’ Strong understanding of the data layer, tagging strategy, and event architecture
β’ Hands-on experience setting up and maintaining CMPs
β’ Experience with Googleβs Advanced Consent Mode
β’ Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, non-technical language
β’ Comfortable communicating directly with clients and internal team members
β’ Available to work within Pacific to Eastern Time (PTβET) business hours
Nice-to-Have
β’ Knowledge of privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
β’ Familiarity with tag governance frameworks
β’ Experience with server-side tagging setups
β’ Matomo Experience
