Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Architect

We are supporting a major State of California modernization effort that is rebuilding large scale data and analytics platforms on Google Cloud from the ground up. This engagement requires a hands on Google Cloud Platform Architect who has led real enterprise implementations and understands how to design secure compliant and scalable GCP environments in a public sector setting. Overview • We are hiring a Google Cloud Platform Architect to support a large scale State of California modernization initiative for a major consulting organization. • This is a long term engagement focused on designing delivering and optimizing enterprise grade GCP data and analytics platforms in a highly regulated public sector environment. • This role requires hands on architectural leadership and ownership of production systems. Role Responsibilities • Lead end to end GCP architecture from requirements through production deployment. • Design and implement cloud native solutions on Google Cloud Platform with a strong focus on data platforms and analytics. • Architect and optimize solutions using BigQuery Dataflow and or Pub Sub. • Support analytics and visualization using Looker. • Design secure and compliant GCP environments aligned with State of California standards. • Drive performance scalability reliability and cost optimization. • Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to engineering teams. • Produce architecture diagrams technical documentation and design artifacts aligned with public sector delivery standards. Required Experience • Five or more years of hands on cloud architecture experience with GCP strongly preferred. • Proven delivery of enterprise scale GCP implementations. • Strong experience with BigQuery Dataflow or Pub Sub and core GCP services including IAM networking and security. • Experience supporting regulated or public sector environments. • Ability to clearly communicate architectural decisions to both technical and non technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications • Google Cloud Professional Architect Certification preferred but not required. • Experience with Looker Apigee Dataplex or Data Fusion. • Familiarity with State of California cloud and security frameworks such as NIST SIMM or CDT standards.
