Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Engineer Location: Corsham (with occasional travel to Salisbury) | Hybrid remote Engagement: Inside IR35 Security Clearance: Minimum SC required (DV advantageous) Espanaro is expanding its engineering capability within a major Ministry of Defence digital transformation programme. We are seeking a GCP Engineer to design, secure, and support scalable cloud infrastructure for mission-critical systems operating in high-assurance environments. This role demands deep technical expertise and a strong understanding of secure cloud delivery within Defence and government settings. You’ll play a key part in developing sovereign cloud capabilities that underpin operational resilience and data assurance across secure domains. Responsibilities • Design, deploy, and manage Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure and services. • Automate cloud provisioning and operations using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles. • Implement and maintain cloud security controls aligned to accreditation and compliance standards. • Support CI/CD pipelines and embed DevSecOps principles across engineering workflows. • Collaborate with software, infrastructure, and cyber teams to deliver secure, high-performance cloud environments. Experience Required • Hands-on experience with core GCP services including Compute Engine, IAM, Cloud Build, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage. • Proficiency in Terraform, Kubernetes (GKE/OpenShift), and CI/CD tooling. • Proven track record delivering secure cloud solutions in Defence or other regulated government environments. • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, automation, and resilience engineering. • Active SC clearance (DV advantageous).
