Looker Developer with GCP NJ -onsite- 2 positions Job description Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Looker Developer to design, build, and maintain analytical solutions that empower business users with data insights. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing data models, crafting custom dashboards, and ensuring the accuracy and performance of data visualizations. This role requires a mix of strong technical skills, creative problem-solving, and effective communication to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain LookML models and dashboards to enable self-service analytics. • Design, write, and optimize SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from various sources. • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements, define KPIs, and translate business needs into effective data visualizations. • Implement data manipulation and cleaning techniques to ensure data quality and reliability. • Establish and maintain efficient data pipelines, aggregate tables, and pre-filtering methods that enhance reporting performance. • Leverage conditional formatting and interactive visualization components to present actionable insights. • Document developed solutions and best practices to support ongoing maintenance and scalability. • Evaluate and integrate additional tools or techniques in data analytics and visualization to enhance overall system performance and usability. Required Qualifications: • Proficiency in Looker and LookML, with demonstrable experience building data models and dashboards. • Strong command of SQL and experience manipulating large datasets. • Familiarity with data visualization principles and tools, ensuring effective communication of data insights. • Proven ability to handle data quality issues including cleaning, preprocessing, and anomaly detection. • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to think logically and devise effective data solutions. • Good written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences. • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work in a dynamic, agile environment. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience working with cloud-based data storage and analytics platforms. • Familiarity with additional programming languages or data processing tools. • Demonstrated experience in designing scalable, secure, and maintainable data solutions.
