Role description
Senior Frontend Engineer (GraphQL Focus) We’re looking for a highly skilled Senior Frontend Engineer with deep GraphQL expertise to help design, build, and scale modern, user‑centric web applications. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of frontend engineering and API architecture—someone who not only consumes GraphQL but also shapes schemas, drives federation strategy, and influences platform‑level decisions. You’ll collaborate closely with design, backend, and product teams to deliver exceptional experiences while setting standards for performance, security, and developer enablement across the organization. What You’ll Do • Build and maintain high‑quality frontend applications using modern JavaScript frameworks (React preferred). • Partner with backend engineers to design efficient, scalable GraphQL schemas and queries. • Translate UI/UX designs into responsive, accessible, and performant interfaces. • Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and cross‑browser compatibility. • Write clean, reusable, well‑tested code aligned with engineering best practices. • Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and architectural discussions. • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to frontend standards, patterns, and guidelines. What You Bring • 6–8+ years of professional frontend development experience. • Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and modern frontend tooling. • Deep experience with React or similar frameworks. • Hands‑on experience designing and operating large‑scale GraphQL systems, including schema design, server‑side GraphQL (Node.js), and client‑side integration. • Strong TypeScript expertise and solid grounding in OOP principles (encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism, SOLID). • Clear understanding of when to use REST vs. GraphQL. • Familiarity with build tools (Webpack, Vite, Babel) and package managers (npm/yarn). • Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows. • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills. Nice to Have • Additional TypeScript depth across both client and server. • Exposure to backend technologies (Node.js, Java, etc.). • Experience with micro‑frontend architectures. • Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, React Testing Library). • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
