Role description
Job Title: Senior Consultant – Guidewire Claim Center Developer
Location: London, UK
Work Mode: Hybrid (2–3 days onsite per week)
Contract Duration: 6 months (with possibility of extension or FTE conversion)
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Guidewire Claim Center (CC) Developer to join a complex implementation, upgrade, and support engagement. The role requires deep technical expertise in Guidewire Claim Center, strong Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance domain knowledge, and the ability to lead distributed support teams across multiple geographies.
Key Responsibilities
Guidewire Delivery & Support
• Work on implementation, upgrade, and support projects for Guidewire xCenters (on-prem, GWCP, and private cloud; v10.x and cloud versions).
• Lead and manage L2/L3/L4 support teams across the UK, US, and India.
• Ensure near 24/7 availability of production and non-production environments, exceeding SLAs.
• Handle production defects effectively, reduce defect inflow, and maintain healthy issue trends.
Incident & Problem Management
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify systemic issues and define preventive actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to control and eliminate recurring defects.
• Enhance application logging standards across Guidewire services to improve MTTR via proactive alerting and anomaly detection.
• Manage centralized monitoring and observability dashboards for real-time system health.
Client & Stakeholder Management
• Coordinate closely with client stakeholders, providing strong functional and technical leadership.
• Manage expectations, estimations, defect triage, and application enhancements.
• Lead teams effectively across multiple time zones.
Required Experience
• Total Guidewire experience: 8+ years
• ClaimCenter experience: 5+ years
• Certification: Guidewire Certified Developer (ACE preferred)
Must-Have Skills
Domain Expertise
• Strong experience in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance.
• Deep understanding of policy, claims, and billing lifecycles in Guidewire systems.
• Experience across personal and/or commercial lines.
Guidewire Technical Skills
• Strong expertise in Guidewire xCenters (v10.x and cloud).
• Experience with integration gateway and other Guidewire centers.
• Hands-on experience with GUnit automation framework for business rule validation.
• Proven application of Guidewire best practices and SurePath methodology.
Configuration Expertise
Hands-on experience configuring:
• Workflows
• Data Models
• Rules
• Entity creation/modification
• Benefit management
• PCF customizations
• Validations
• Widgets and attributes
• Integration mechanisms
Customization & Integration
• REST and SOAP–based intra/inter-system integrations.
• Strong understanding of Guidewire data models and customization patterns.
Technical Skills
• Batch processing, Guidewire Messaging Framework, OOTB plugins.
• Infrastructure and deployment knowledge (WMB, WAS, Apache).
• Strong software architecture and design experience within the Guidewire ecosystem.
• Testing pyramid enforcement (GUnit, API/integration testing, targeted UI regression).
• Expertise in Gosu, Core Java, SQL.
• Ability to write SQL queries for analysis across different databases.
SDLC & Tools
• Structured SDLC with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in implementation and AMS programs.
• Tools: Git, Jira, ServiceNow.
Soft Skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to adapt to dynamic client implementation environments.
• Strong learning mindset and enthusiasm for adopting new technologies.
