Role description
Job Title: Business / Data Analyst – Claims (Guidewire ClaimsCenter) Location: Onsite role in Warren, NJ Experience: 8–12+ Years Duration: Long term Contract Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst – Claims with strong expertise in end-to-end Claims Life Cycle management and hands-on experience with Guidewire ClaimsCenter. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, claims adjusters, underwriting, legal, and IT teams to analyze, document, and implement solutions supporting Incident intake, Claim processing, Adjudication, Reserves management, Payout processing, Subrogation, Litigation, and Indemnity workflows. The role requires strong functional knowledge of insurance claims operations and the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications. Key Responsibilities: • Analyze and document business requirements across the full Claims Life Cycle including FNOL (First Notice of Loss), Incident creation, Claim setup, coverage verification, adjudication, reserves, payout, subrogation, litigation, and indemnity. • Work extensively with Guidewire ClaimsCenter for configuration, enhancements, workflows, business rules, and integrations. • Conduct gap analysis between current and future state processes. • Facilitate requirement gathering sessions, workshops, and stakeholder interviews. • Create BRD, FRD, user stories, process flows (AS-IS / TO-BE), and data mapping documents. • Support Claims adjudication workflows including liability determination and settlement processing. • Define and manage Reserves logic, financial transactions, recoveries, and payment approvals. • Collaborate with finance teams on claim payout and indemnity calculations. • Support Subrogation and Litigation tracking including recovery workflows and legal case management. • Work with QA teams for test case preparation, UAT support, and defect resolution. • Ensure compliance with regulatory and policy guidelines. • Support integrations between ClaimsCenter and downstream systems (policy, billing, payments, third-party vendors). Required Skills • 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in Insurance domain. • Strong functional expertise in P&C Claims Life Cycle. • Hands-on experience with Guidewire ClaimsCenter (configuration, workflows, business rules). • Deep knowledge of Incident reporting, claim adjudication, reserves, payout processing, indemnity, subrogation, and litigation handling. • Experience in writing user stories and working in Agile/Scrum environments. • Strong knowledge of claims financials and transaction processing. • Experience in data analysis, SQL (preferred). • Excellent stakeholder communication and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications • Guidewire Certification (ClaimsCenter preferred). • Experience with integrations, APIs, and data mapping. • Knowledge of regulatory compliance in insurance claims. • Experience with reporting tools (Power BI/Tableau – optional).
