Duties
Lead the architectural design and technical strategy for Guidewire Insurance Suite implementations, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices.
Develop comprehensive data models and data warehouse architectures utilizing SQL, NoSQL databases, and big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Azure Data Lake.
Design scalable ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using Informatica, Python, Bash scripts, and other tools to facilitate efficient data ingestion and processing.
Integrate Guidewire applications with diverse systems through APIs, middleware, and cloud services like AWS and Azure, ensuring secure and reliable data flow.
Collaborate with Agile teams to deliver iterative solutions while maintaining architectural integrity across projects.
Implement best practices in database design for relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle to optimize performance and data integrity.
Utilize advanced analytics techniques to derive insights from large datasets, supporting strategic decision-making.
Stay current with emerging technologies including Linked Data concepts, NoSQL databases like Cassandra or MongoDB, and cloud-native tools to continuously improve architecture standards.
Provide technical mentorship to development teams on coding standards in Java, Python, Bash scripting, and guidewire-specific configurations.
Document architecture designs, technical specifications, and implementation plans clearly for stakeholder review.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Guidewire Architect or similar role leading Guidewire Insurance Suite projects in a complex enterprise environment.
Strong expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure Data Lake services with hands-on experience deploying scalable solutions.
Deep understanding of data modeling principles, database design (SQL Server, Oracle), and big data ecosystems including Hadoop and Spark.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, Bash (Unix shell scripting), with a focus on automation and integration tasks.
Experience implementing ETL processes using Informatica or equivalent tools; familiarity with SQL for data manipulation is essential.
Knowledge of NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra for managing unstructured or semi-structured data.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies to facilitate flexible project delivery cycles.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions effectively.
