Job Purpose The Head of Workplace Solutions Data Analytics & Insight leads the delivery of high‑quality, decision‑ready insight to inform M&G’s global Workplace Strategy and optimise the performance, cost and utilisation of its operational real estate portfolio. Reporting directly to the Director of Workplace Solutions, the role provides strategic leadership of Workplace data, analytics and insight while maintaining senior oversight of analytical outputs, standards, governance and quality. The role acts as a critical interface between Workplace Solutions, Finance, HR, Technology, Group Data and Risk functions, ensuring Workplace insight is trusted, well‑governed and used effectively to support senior decision‑making. The role also provides strategic direction and senior oversight for the development and deployment of AI‑enabled solutions across Workplace Solutions, ensuring they are used safely, responsibly and effectively to create capacity, improve productivity and enhance the delivery of WPS services and products. Initially appointed as a paternity cover, the role reflects the increasing scope, maturity and profile of the WPS Data Analytics & Insight capability, with potential for longer‑term continuation subject to business need. Key Accountabilities • Analytics Strategy & Leadership • Lead the delivery and ongoing evolution of the WPS Data Analytics & Insight strategy, aligned to Workplace Strategy and broader M&G priorities. • Set clear analytical direction, priorities and standards to support strategic decision‑making, portfolio optimisation and BAU operational management. • Act as senior analytical advisor to the Director of Workplace Solutions and WPS Senior Leadership Team, providing evidence‑based insight, challenge and recommendations. • Represent Workplace Solutions in enterprise‑wide data, analytics and AI forums, as required. • Insight, Reporting & Decision Support • Oversee the production of high‑quality dashboards, reporting and insight products (e.g. Power BI), ensuring outputs are accurate, consistent and decision‑focused. • Translate complex operational, financial and people data into clear insight, implications, options and recommendations for senior stakeholders. • Provide senior analytical oversight for business cases, investment decisions, workplace strategy development, scenario modelling and benefits tracking. • Personally lead or deliver complex or high‑risk analytical activity where pace, integration complexity or senior judgement is required. • Data Governance, Controls & Quality • Maintain robust data governance, KPI definitions, documentation and controls across all Workplace analytics and reporting. • Ensure consistency of performance measures and insight logic across geographies, services and functional areas. • Identify data quality, lineage or control issues and work with Technology, system owners and Group Data teams to agree and deliver remediation. • Strengthen data ownership and stewardship practices across Workplace Solutions. • Enterprise Platforms & Data Foundations • Lead engagement with Technology and system owners to improve backend data structures, integrations and data flows that underpin Workplace insight. • Drive effective and scalable use of enterprise platforms (e.g. ServiceNow, workforce or FM systems) as trusted and controlled data sources. • Review locally built or insourced tools to identify data, control or duplication risks and opportunities for standardisation or simplification. • AI Enablement, Oversight & Capacity Creation • Provide strategic direction and senior oversight of WPS’s use of AI and advanced analytics to: • Create capacity within WPS teams • Reduce manual effort and duplication • Enhance the consistency, speed and quality of WPS services and products • Identify and prioritise AI use cases across property, facilities management, workplace experience, sustainability and reporting that deliver measurable operational or decision‑making benefit. • Ensure AI solutions are underpinned by high‑quality, well‑governed data, with clear ownership, documentation and controls. • Act as the senior WPS interface with Group Data, AI, Technology, Risk and Compliance teams, ensuring all AI deployments: • Align with M&G’s AI governance, risk and ethical standards • Are explainable, auditable and appropriately controlled • Are scalable and sustainable beyond pilot phase • Oversee the transition of AI‑enabled solutions from prototype to BAU capability, ensuring benefits are realised and adoption is supported. • Capability Development & Leadership • Provide leadership, coaching and oversight to the WPS Data Analytics & Insight team, including Senior Data Analysts and Data Analysts. • Set and embed standards for analytics, visualisation, insight storytelling, documentation and quality assurance. • Foster a strong culture of data‑led decision‑making, continuous improvement and control discipline across Workplace Solutions. • Enable wider WPS colleagues to make better use of data and insight through collaboration, guidance and practical support. Essential Skills, Knowledge & Experience • Degree level qualification in Economics, Maths, Accounting similar i.e. high degree of numeracy and data modelling • Significant experience leading and providing hands on analytical skills and track record of delivering quality MI and insight within a large, complex organisation. • Deep expertise in Power BI and senior‑level management information, with strong quality assurance capability. • Proven ability to convert complex data into clear, commercially focused insight for senior decision‑makers. • Strong understanding of data governance, controls, quality management and lineage. • Confident operating at senior leadership level, influencing, advising and constructively challenging. Desirable • Experience within workplace, property, facilities management, operations or corporate environments. • Familiarity with enterprise platforms (e.g. ServiceNow, workforce, FM or operational systems). • Experience supporting business case development, benefits tracking or financial‑linked analysis. • Experience providing senior oversight of AI‑enabled analytics, automation or decision‑support tools within a regulated or complex environment. • SQL, Python or equivalent analytical tooling.
