• Title: Healthcare Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst
Location: Mclean, VA 22102 - Remote
Duration: 6 Months Contract to hire
Job Description:
Terms of Employment:
• W2 Contract-to-Hire, Six Months
• This position is 100% remote.
Overview:
• Join a leading healthcare organization as a Senior Health Intelligence Analyst, where you will act as the primary liaison between business operations and technical data delivery. In this "techno-functional" role, you won't just pull data; you will own the entire reporting lifecycle for major state contracts, ensuring that the insights we provide help improve healthcare delivery and compliance.
• The Health Intelligence Analyst Senior owns the delivery, quality, and continuous improvement of operational reporting, supporting healthcare programs and client contracts. This role serves as a senior reporting lead and client-facing partner, ensuring accurate, repeatable, and scalable production of contractual and operational deliverables. The position requires understanding of healthcare data and operations and technical skills on reporting tools, independent ownership of reporting cycles, and strong stakeholder engagement. The analyst operates with a high degree of autonomy, independently manages complex reporting cycles, and drives improvements in reporting workflows, quality controls, and documentation.
You will
• Own end-to-end operational reporting cycles, from initial requirements gathering through final delivery.
• Act as the primary reporting lead for assigned clients, navigating complex healthcare data models to ensure accuracy.
• Analyze data trends (e.g., provider quality, member outreach) and draft executive-ready summaries and commentary.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract data from MS SQL or Oracle databases.
• Design and maintain reporting artifacts in various formats including Excel (macros), SSRS, and PowerPoint.
• Drive "BI Governance" by identifying opportunities to standardize reports and reduce redundancy.
Required Qualifications:
• 7+ years of experience in analytics or operational reporting.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL (joins, data lineage, troubleshooting) and Excel (macros and complex formulas).
• Significant experience in the healthcare or managed care industry.
• Experience navigating complex healthcare data models to ensure accuracy.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with Microsoft reporting stack, specifically SSRS.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Power BI and transitioning legacy reports to modern BI tools.
• Familiarity with Salesforce CRM as a data source for healthcare applications.
• Experience in behavioral health, EAP, or population health analytics.
• Knowledge of data warehouse and business intelligence methodologies.
• Experience with QA workflows and frameworks.
